I do digital design and yes have had some luck with making money. I cant draw for crap, and even screw up stick people lol. But you can do so much on the computer that a pencil in my hand would become a shameful disgrace. Some poeple do feel like thier art is for themselves which is understandable simply because it is a part of themself, but there are those who see compansation for thier work as high praise. We can all create something that we ourselves like, but when another loves it enough to say man I have to have that, it takes it to another level. Some of the pieces I have designed were turned into gift wrap. One was even used in Federated stores a few years back for Christmas. I found it quite rewarding to have chanced into the dept. store and gift shopping, and see my work in thier customer service area as a gift wrap for your purchases. Now some may say Oh wow a gift wrap design (sarcastically said) but work is work and I got paid well for 4 hours worth of work, not to mention that it was used nation wide, and who knows how many thousands of people selected my design to wrap thier special gift with. So yeah it wasn't a masterpiece gainig its place in art histroy books, but it was my creation, that was sucsessful. Other than that I have also sold some photos at local arts and craft venues. I go to six or so per year and managed a few thousand dollars in income with minimal output. As for writing, that is been one of my biggest road blocks. I have a gripping sci fi action novel ive written, but don't have any contacts in the writing world. So here I sit with finished product and no knowledge on how to persue getting it out there. Good luck with your work, and depending on how much marketable stock you have, you may wish to try a art and craft show.

Well i'm finishing up a site and it will feature a whole bunch of different earning opprotunities if you're interested? There will be places that'll help you to find writing, and artwork opprotunities too. If so, just send a friend request my way and i'll send the site to you when i'm finished with it in at tops probably a week and hopefully it'll end up being very helpful to ya'!
The best I can suggest off the top of my head is Deviantart.com, and Viewbug.com
Buutt there are way more then that. Viewbug you should especially like unless what you meant by art was just drawings as I think viewbug focuses more around photography, video, and audio.

I've never tried to sell any art, but I do ahve some ideas that I've checked inot, though not in great detail. There's www.threadless.com - a t-shirt design site. If your design is chosen, you get a 1-time payment. www.cafepress.com is another site where you can upload art, create a store, choose products, and then sell them with your design. The other thing you could do is find a local store (gallery, etc. and put art on display for sale. A few places near me do that. I don't know how profitable any of these actually are - just some ideas I had.
