I have my own computer, but I just use it, can not repair it. It is a hard thing for me to deal with the problems of computer.
If there is something wrong with my computer, I have to ask help from my friend who is good at it. Sometimes I try to repair it by myself, while it just can be worse.
How about you, my friend, do you have the same problem?

I have a very old Dell computer and i have been using it for long so i know what my computer weakness is, when problem arise. I am not a technical guy but i have learnt how to reboot my operating system and also where the RAM slot is. When i have problems i just reboot my computer and if it does not work i'll just take out the RAM once and put it back again. My computer hardly gives problems so am very happy that.

I can do only basic troubleshooting, but when it comes to serious computer problems, i leave it all to hubby because this is his expertise.
I don't worry if our computer would encounter a problem because i know who can i turn too to fix it, also he is teaching me some basic knowledge so that if anything happens, i can do it on my own.
I will be able to use his tools and installation cds as well, so i am thankful to God about my spouse.Happy Mylotting!

It depends on what kind of this problem. If it's a software or operating system problem, then I can fix it by myself. However, if it's the hardware problem, I have no idea of it. As sometimes a minor problem will cause the computer doesn't work properly. And you have to check the hardware one by one.

Hi there. Well, it really depend on the problem. If it's a software problem, then I'd most likely be able to work my way around it and fix it. However, if it's a hardware problem, then I'd really be lost and would have to seek professional help. I'd like to learn about hardware fixing though. After all, professional help doesn't come without a "professional" price.

Nope. In reality, I'm the one that my family depends on when ever our computers go on the blink. My family's hopeless when it comes to computers or technology, my dad can't even uninstall a program without using the control panel.
Usually, as long as it's not hardware, I can fix the program. Once I took apart our processor, because I was curious (stupid reason, I know) so I'm cable of taking out and installing new graphic cards and the like.

Nope, I actually do the repairs myself, be it hardware or software, or whatever it is. I assembled my own computer, so I don't have any warranties on it, except for the individual parts that make up the whole system. Naturally I know my pc inside out, so if anything goes wrong, its up to me to fix it. Besides there are lots of online forums where you can ask around how to fix a certain problem on your pc. Of course if you have a branded one and it's till under warranty, don't hesitate to call for service, although it's gonna take a few days for your pc to get repaired. Also, it might be a good idea for you to ask your friend to explain what went wrong, and how to fix it. Cheers!

Hi mjanne.
I wish I could respond with a yes but I'd be lying if I do that.I'm still in the process of learning...my husband is the one doing all the troubleshooting.
But I know that I would be able to do this myself soon. What you can do is to watch your friend whenever he or she needs to repair your computer so that the next time it happens, you would be able to repair it on your own...that's what I do.
Thanks.
Happy mylottin!

Hi,mjanne.I have had my own computer for 3 years.During this period,i was always bothered by it before ,as it always failed, especialy at the beginning .Before i had my own PC,i knew nothing about computers skills, let alone how to maintain and repair them. After i bought one,I met with many problems including sample using problems and some difficult technical ones.Originally, what i could do was only to turn to others for help, such as my classmates ,teachers and so on.When they checked my PC,I would learn from them. So,little by little,i knew better about it than before. Now,i can do some common daily maintainance and some simple repair.
