This is a very good action film. What a dream come true, 2 masters in one martial arts movie together, and not only that but actually fight against each other! This movie simply by the stunning martial arts is just so fantastic that you just can't wait for a fight to break out. The plot is very typical and follows out much like all the other martial arts films, but again that is easily made up for with the amazing fight scenes. Jackie Chan and Jet Li did a wonderful job in this movie, anyone fans of either of them will definitely LOVE this movie. Its a must watch, and you can even watch it again just to see the greatness fight.

I went and saw this in the second run theater. I liked it, but didn't think it was anything special. Firstly, it's definitely a kids movie. And lacks the layers and unexpected edge that makes a 'kids' movie a classic for all ages and all times, like The Labrynth. At a certain level, there's no actual danger or evil. Which may just make it more Eastern storytelling style, since the good/bad distinction is a Western thing, but I still think it lacked concreteness which robbed it of the narrative power.
Secondly, it felt like the director was reaching for an aesthetic that his team couldn't quite meet. Personally, I think for me the disjunction came about because Jackie Chan always does his own stunts and I -believe- he does his own stunts. But the other half the movie was about the Crouching Tigers type of amazing choreographed wire work, which is a different level of reality. The combination did not work well, and ended up feeling like two movies juxtaposed into one.
It was amusing though, and had a decent twist and basic structure. If I'd grown up on it, I'm sure I'd have watched it many times.
But over all, it was great seeing Jackie Chan and Jet Li together!
