If you hate the teacher, does it mean you hate his or her subject as well?

When I was still a student in a university, I used to hate one of my professorx. He do nothing but to assign report to each of us for each day. All of us are required to study one writings of an author and will share it to the class. So, each day that he will come, he will just ask who is the assigned reporter. After knowing who the reporter that day, he will just go into the back seat. Before its ok with me because perhaps he is just training us to talk in front of the class. But then, one time while my classmate is reporting in front, I noticed that he is just texting and not listening to the reporter.I really felt so bad and hate him for that. But despite the fact that I hate the teacher, I still love the subject. I just make a study of his subject, myself. I can say that I did not learn much from him or maybe did not learn anything at all. If I got some facts and information from his subject, its because of my classmates and my own determination to study myself.
Do you have same experience with mine? DO you hate a teacher and hate his or her subject at same time of do you hate only the teacher? Have a nice and wonderful day to all of you!

if i hate the teacher, that doesn't mean i hate her/his subject.
bcz my likeness to this subject matters nothing with that teacher.if he/she is a good teacher with a good personality , rich in knowledge, it would help me a lot in learning this subject well, but if not .it's ok,i will learn myself.
sometime , things can be like this, i like this teacher ,but i can't love this subject at all...no matter how hard i try to persuade myself to love this subject...
don't know why..

hi babyorchid,
I also experienced such when I was in high school. I had this teacher who is very kind but I really cannot learn on the subject she is teaching. I did not hate that teacher, but hated myself because I feel so dumb. I am not really good in numbers.

hi j47lee,
Hum...Does you find her teaching style so boring? I hated history also when I was in first year because our teacher was so boring there. But when I stepped on to second year up to fourth year, I can say that I learned to love history. Our teachers there are so good with their teaching styles.

Yes,i once hated my English teacher.I don't think he is qualified, his English is not good enough, but he is just so proud of his oversea experience,he knows little about teaching skill, the only thing he is good at is flattering his students. Some students like to watch movie,so he often plays CDs during the class, even these CDs are not about English.Fortunately,he just tought us for a short time.

hi jennyaijua,
Well, I think that he got that result because as you mentioned, you not think he is qualified to teach English too. That is so sad and I hope I will not receive comments like that when I begin my teaching in English. Thanks for sharing.

I once had a Latin teacher that I hated. He used to insult and make fun of the students, and he seemed to enjoy it. If he was in a good mood he would tell jokes and make a lot of ironic comments which could be pretty entertaining, but I didn't like his lessons, because we never knew what kind of mood he was in, and we didn't if he was going to joke or insult and humiliate us. Most of the students were afraid of him. He was very, very good at Latin and I never doubted his qualifications, but he wasn't a good teacher. I hated him and I also hated Latin. I might have found Latin interesting if I had had a different teacher, but I was just really happy when our Latin lessons and Latin exam was over.

hi porcospino,
I will certainly dislike certain type of teacher. As a leader in the classroom, he must set a good example. It is not really good to humiliate your student especially in front of the rest of the class. Thanks for responding to my discussion.

Hi! I think most of the time, if you hate the teacher, you also hate the subject that he or she is teaching, although sometimes it really is just the teacher. When I was in university, Religious Studies was a required course that I had to take for 4 semesters. I enjoyed the first 2 sems because the professors were fun and interesting. However, the last 2 sems were nightmares because the teachers were sooooo boring. I ended up being absent from my classes most of time. If I did attend class, I would be nodding off to sleep. I also remember in high school, we had a literature teacher who was hated or made fun of by most of the class, but that didn't wholly stop us from liking the subject.

hi mrsyen,
Thanks for participating. I agree with you with boring teachers. I remember when I was in high school that I always make excuses for me not to attend the history class. . Its because I always feel sleepy on his subject so I whenever it will be his time, I always say that I have headache and wants to go to school clinic.

It is true that a few teachers are unprofessional and don't do their duty well. This kind of experiences happen everywhere and the only way to stop this is to highlight the teacher's activity to his/her superior, in this case, PRINCIPAL. My opinion is that there is no need to hate either the teacher or the subject s/he teaches.

hi wordseller,
I agree with you that the principal must monitored carefully on his or her teacher's teaching. With that, they can be sure that their students are really learning. Thanks for sharing

Ya i have encountered the same problem. There used to be a teacher of cost accounting during my college days and she was quite boastful of the false notion that she knew everything about the subject.I must say that she was a bad teacher.Nobody used to understand the way she used to lecture.Once she asked if the students have any difficulty understanding her subject and i just stood up and told her about the difficulties we were facing due to her teaching method. From then onwards she tried to insult me on every occasion but it did not shake my interest in the subject and what i learnt about the subject was because of my own resolution.I topped in the university exams in that subject and she felt quite insulted.

hi bamrahkirti,
I also hate boastful teachers. Hum....I think she felt that way when you top because of her pride. For me eventhough teachers are the captains in the classroom, they must posses also humility.
