Which processor is the fastest currently?

I've heard of the quad core, but then they say its not as fast as dual core, it is fast only in multi tasking and all.

Wow yeah,, the intel core i7 processor, an advanced desktop processor by Intel, it really is the fastest processor in the present year...
I think its a member of the new family of Nehalem processor, i think it maximizes the performance and data processes, but i think it cost a lot... hehe

The I7 is the fastest for sure, but youl pay for it. I would suggest a more cost efficient chip such as phenom II.

Hmmm... Intels i7 processor is out in market .... provides l3 cache :D but processor speed is only 2.6ghz .... better than quad core :D

as per the market scenario quad core is the fastest and easily available in most of the countries.
dual core is quite slower than quad core.
