Can I Avail House Rent Allownace?

I am working in a public School in Delhi. I am staying in a gov't accomodation alloted to my spouse. Can I avail House Rent Allowance as a part of my slary?

Hi roselot, welcome to mylot. I am sure that you can avail your house rent allowance. For how long have you been working? have you just started working?

Hello, Kiran,
Thank you for your response. I have been working since last 20 years and getting HRA. This problom developed recently only. Due to the pay commission the salary will be more and there may be a chance to cut our HRA. So I just want to know is ther any rule for cutting HRA from my salary or any notification or court decission to avoid deducting HRA.

O;k got it,i dont know if there is any rule where yur HR gets deducted ...My sister is in govt service( doctor) since the past 21 years living in her husbands quarters and he too is works for the ISI clinc. She has had no problem with her HR..may be to double check you could ask a CA...
