Have you ever witnessed an accident happen in front of you?

Earlier today I was in a bus when suddenly a speeding motorcycle slammed into a parked truck. It was an awful scene. I saw it in front of me. I was numb for a while. The scene was full of blood. There was even some particles of human flesh. Grouse! The impact was so strong that the driver of the motorcycle slid under the truck. No one would think that any one can survive that kind of accident, but miraculously the guy was alive! He was rushed to a near hospital. He broke an arm, ribs, and a leg. He also suffers a lot of bruises all over his body. He was lucky he was wearing a helmet on. Actually, his helmet went off of his head when he slammed the truck, but miraculously he has no head injury. He was conscious when he was taken to the hospital. The only problem he faces now is severe loss of blood, and internal injury. Man! That experience was shocking. I wish I didn't witness that. How about you guys? Have you witnessed an accident happen in front of you? Thanks for having some time to read my discussion. Stay safe y'all! Have a nice day. Happy posting!!

I guess you just gasped at the sight!
So far, no, I haven't witnessed an accident as it happened. But I have been exposed to the ER before and we kind of just gotten used to all the gross stuffs post-accident. But the accident per se, thank God, never have I witnessed.

To be honest with you, I am wishing to see an actual scenario of such sort despite that I have seen this kind of horrible scenes, I still have to witness an actual event. I've been in EMS for quite sometime already and responded this kind of situations but never witnessed one yet.

Hey there! Why? Was there no warning signs around? You were a little bit lucky because you only had a leg injury and no car run you off. If you were lucky that wouldn't happen. Thanks for responding and sharing your experience here. Have a nice day. Happy posting!!

I have seen several accidents as they happen. My first instinct is to stop and render aid. I know first aid and CPR. I call 911 and get help on its way to the scene. I do not leave the scene until the police say it is okay.

One Summer Evening,on the way to town,I was behind a SUV approaching a rise in the road that blocked the view ahead- I was preparing to overtake as I knew the road was straight beyond the rise, and was waiting to see was the road beyond clear before indicating to pull out, when a speeding drunk driver came over the rise in the middle of the road..the SUV got sideswiped and went off road into the grass verge, part of the SUV's electric door mirror that was smashed off flew back and gouged the bonnet of my car and busted the passenger wiper, though thankfully not my windscreen.. The drunk's car flipped over after caroming off the SUV and ended up on it's roof facing back the way it came in someone's garden after breaking their wood fence.. I checked on the SUV Driver after calling the crash in,(thankfully nobody was seriously injured) then went over to see the other bystanders checking on the Drunk..You never know when something like this will happen!

Horrible experience! Still I can recollect each and every segment of those scenes....so sharply inscribed in the brain.
It was a road accident, collission of a bike with a truck. I could see him go on the air and fall down on the road. His body split apart....blood splashed all around...
After that incident I have tried to undo the accident in my mind. Unfortunately it happens in our life.

That was, I think more, horrible than what I've experience. Really? He went air borne? And his body was split apart?! That scene is really hard to take off of our mind. It's there to stay. Thanks for responding and sharing here. Happy posting!!

I had seen several but there is one which is the clearest. I was on my motorbike and stopped at an intersection as the traffic light turned red. I was at the front of the traffic queue, with another guy on his cub. The road to the left was up a slope. This girl rode her cub downhill and entered the intersection as the light turned red. The guy on my right sped off without looking to the left, busy looking at the traffic lights for traffic from the left.. Even though the light for her has turned red, ours was also red. He should have waited three seconds before speeding off.
That was the first time I saw a motorcyclist flying in the air. Many people around the area gathered around them. Initially I did not want to stop but she was the only female, and the bystanders were paying attention to the guy. She suffered some bruises because he broke her flight. He suffered a broken arm. Since no one paid any attention to her, I accompanied her to a private clinic and later on to the hospital for a more thorough checkup.
all the best,
rosdimy

I personally see at least three accident on the spot. Two sedans crashing in middle of a crossing of broad country roads. One stood still, but the other went up vertical and dropped down with flat front. From then on, I even more believe in quality of automotive products, much more important than price.
I never witnessed any of the blood shedding accident. People should be patient and polite in driving behavior, so that a lot of accidents can be avoided.

Wow, that sounds horrible! Luckily the guy survived (thankfully).
I haven't experienced something so intense, but I've seen a couple car accidents (fender-benders, t-bones) on the streets in front of where I work, and that was quite exciting. . Nothing quite as drastic as what you've seen, though.

Hey there! Yeah, it was horrible. Like it makes me shiver whenever It cross my mind. The scene full of blood, broken thigh bone, and some human flesh. I really wish I didn't saw it. Seeing accidents like what you've seen is quite exciting just as long as there's there's no blood and human flesh scattered in the place. Thanks for responding and sharing here. Have a nice day. Hi, AltheGreat2430! I am very sorry to hear about this! I have never seen an accident happen right before my eyes. But, I have seen it where people on the roads are driving and they almost caused an accident. This is sad! I know that you had to have been shaken up to see flesh and blood all over the place! I don't know if I could stand for this! I would have nightmares after nightmares! This is very terrible to hear of! Thank God that is alive. And that he was smart to have had his helmet on his head! He is very lucky to be alive! Not most people can survive an freak accident as this! I was in an accident when I was about 6 years old. A whit car hit me while I was on my ten speed bike. I fell and hot my head on the road and there was blood coming from my head. It hurted a lot and I was very scared. I thought that I was going to die. That is the only accident that I witnessed that had so much blood! I have seen many accidents on T.V. but, I have never seen one happen like that right before my eyes! I did see many accidents that happened, but I did not see any blood. I was passing along the road and the ambulance and police was out there.. I saw the after effects that is all. I don't know how I could handle myself, if I had seen something like this. Please have a safe and careful weekend!

I've witnessed several in my lifetime. Always had a cell phone handy to call it in. But the worst one I witnessed was the one I was in. Seven cars and two semi trucks in a pileup on a rain slick interstate. My gas tank ruptured as I was hit from behind by one of the semi trucks. Luckily I managed to get out of that with only minor whiplash, and no one else was seriously hurt either.

I've never witnessed an accident happen before me. I think I wouldn't be able to handle it and might go into a panic attack because I'd be too scared for the person in the accident. I might also have nightmares about it.
Thanks for the response on my discussion!

I also experienced seeing an accident happen right in front of my eyes. We were riding a jeepney, a type of public transportation here in the Philippines, when out of nowhere, a speeding truck hit a motorcycle. It was very frightening. The bus and motorcyle screeched as they traveled entangled for around 2-5 seconds. That was fast but when the motorcyles half was already torn, it fell down together with its rider. I could not look after that in fear of the blood that may flush after his head hit the pavement. That was so scary. That incident also even convinced me more not to prchase a motorcycle.
