Today I find that I have the flu, and more

So today I woke up with a swollen locked jaw, a headache, I was too hot, I was too cold, I have a fever, a dry cough that burns, sore hair follicles, and a sore weak body in general. I toughed it out in school, it was a long day. I got home and tried to figure out why my jaw hurt, it was the only part that did not make sense when having the flu. I have had clicking in my jaw for a few years, ever since my wisdom teeth were taken out it. So I looked it up and apparently I have TMJ, an incurable jaw decease which becomes swollen and pained when you have the flu, you can get this from genetics, or from stressful dental procedures (such as prying my small mouth open and digging wisdom teeth out). 10 million Americans suffer from this. Do you have this?

Hi,
I used to suffer from same problem. My mummy's home-tips cured it:-
1)Gargle in hot saline water,2-3 times/day.
2)Increase Hot liquid intake.(e.g-hot green tea,chicken/veg hot soup,coffee etc).
3)Keep a clove+ginger piece in mouth.3-4times/day.
4)equal quantity honey+Fresh Lemon juice.Mix.1 tsf/3 times/day.
5) Stay home,Sleep 7 hours,keeping an extra-pillow under Ur head.
See the Result,in 24 hours.if possible,continue...will reduce freq of attack.

Sorry to hear you are not feeling well. I have heard of TMJ before, but I do not have it and I do not know anyone who does have it. I am sure having the flu is bad enough I can't imagine having that on top of the flu. I hope you get better soon, so the pain and discomfort will go away.
