hi im starting this discussion to se what other people might think of this. recently ive been getting realy bad chest pains ive ben getting them for years but lately teyve been getting worse.
my partner started getting really worried about me and talked me into going to the doctors.when i went to the doctors he was baffled about the pains i was describing after a brief examination which was fine.he decided he wanted to send me for an e.c.g and some blood tests. the e.c.g cam out fine and the blood test showed im anaemic but nothing really to worry about. becaus the tests cam back fine he decided to refer me to a specialist at a hospital.
my first appointment at the hospital and the doctor was just as baffled as the first and did a brief examination and decided to send me for a chest x-ray another e.c.g and an endoscopy. after all these examinations and alot of worrying the tests still showed nothing was wrong with me.
its ruled out any problems with my chest.heart and digestive system which i suppose is a good thing really but i still have an unexplained illness.the doctors are now trying to say its anxiety attacks and stress, but i dont fel stressed at all.
i was wondering what everyone else thought of this and i wanted to hear from people who suffer from anxiety attacks if they hink it could be this as the doctors are on about putting me on anti depressents which i definately dont want to happen.
happy mylotting

I do have anxiety attacks. You feel like your heart is going 200 miles an hour and sometimes you feel like you can't breath. Sometimes I feel like I need to get up and get out of wherever I am. Its a horrible feeling! I can usally control it with medication (a very low dose). Hope you figure out how to deal with it.

hi, i think you should stop worrying about it at all. if you really have something to do with anxiety it may be because you are thinking about it over again.try to concentrate somewhere else apart from your body.if not getting much relif then start doing some meditation in stead of medication...

Had you come to my clinic you would have been spared of all the investigations The number of times you had had chest 'pains' and that too over a long period of time rules out heart problem, and a few more questions would have ruled out digestive problems! These pain attacks are due to anxiety only, may be latent, I mean sometimes it is the subconscious mind which is causing all this. Best way to avoid anti depressants is to make yourself realize that these are 'Normal' pains which are not going to affect you seriously. Try to shift your attention from these pains, try relaxation techniques like; deep breathing, yoga, meditation etc.
