hello friends,
i have just completed reading Eragon. i usually don't read much of fantasy, but, this one i read because one of my friends gave it to me and said its good. i found it wonderful and couldn't leave the book until i reached the last page.
i haven't watched the movies yet, but i have read the reviews that its not good.
after reading i just looked into the, just to see what other people say,....i do this very often. i was shocked to see some reviews that the whole thing is so stupid, but then, i noticed that they were talking about the movie....did you watch the movie? how was it according to you.
i have read people saying that a teenager had written the book and it it so childish ans cliche. well, i didn't find it funny at all and i was surprised that a guy so young has written it. did you read the book?...and did you like it?
the book ended so abruptly and i was disappointed, but then i came to know there are two more novels..........two more??....i am eager to know what happens next and i don't think I'll buy and read the other two now......any one here who can help me?...,,if you have read the other two, could you please summarize the other tow?...at least the main points?
have a nice day

I've read all three. And no I won't give you the highlights because you just HAVE to read them. There is going to be a fourth one soon too! They are fabulous books and you would be doing yourself a disservice by not reading them. And the fact that they were written by a teenager is neither here nor there. They are brilliant books from a brilliant mind and deserve to be read and appreciated. I hope you buy them...

Try going to your local library and see if they have the other 2 books, so you don't have to buy them. If it was me, and I enjoyed the first book, I definitely would read the other 2 books.
I have not even heard of this book or the movie. Will have to look into it.

I have read all three books. I really enjoyed them. The movie is another matter. I hated it. They didn't add stuff in, but they left stuff out. I would look into borrowing the other two books from a friend or from the library. They are worth reading. Summarizing would take all day.

well, what I don't understand is if you like the first book so much why then aren't you gonna buy the second and third one?
don't forget that most movies that are made out of books are disappointment after you read the book, usually books have more details and endless limitations.
Happy mylotting

Well I've never even heard of them until you mentioned them, but you got me curious enough, that I'll probably find them and read them. I am surprised that you can handle spoiler, personally I would like to enjoy the book while reading them.

Hello my friend uniquestar Ji,I do not think that I have seen this movie. Also i never read this book. But you have
induced curiosity after i went through following reception about this book. For more
you may Log On :
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eragon#cite_note-15
"Reception
Eragon received mixed reviews by critics. Liz Rosenberg of The New York Times Book
Review criticized it for having "clichéd descriptions", "B-movie dialogue", "awkward
and gangly" prose, and a plot that "stumbles and jerks along, with gaps in logic and
characters dropped, then suddenly remembered, or new ones invented at the last minute"
However, she concluded the review by noting that "for all its flaws, it is an
authentic work of great talent".[7] School Library Journal wrote that Eragon is
"overly simplistic in its resolution of plot issues".[8] Common Sense Media called
Eragon's dialogue "long-winded" and "clichéd", with a plot "straight out of Star Wars
by way of The Lord of the Rings, with bits of other great fantasies thrown in here
and there." The website did concede that the book is a notable achievement for such a
young author, and that it would be "appreciated" by younger fans.[9]
Favorable reviews of Eragon often focused on the book's strong characters and tight
plot. IGN's Matt Casamassina called the book "entertaining", and added that
"Paolini demonstrates that he understands how to hold the reader's eyes and this is
what ultimately separates Eragon from countless other me-too fantasy novels."[10]
Chris Lawrence of About.com thought the book had all the "traditional ingredients"
that make a fantasy novel "enjoyable". The book was a "fun read" for him because it is
"quick and exciting" and "packed" with action and magic. Lawrence concluded his review
by giving the book a rating of 3.8/5, commenting that "the characters are interesting,
the plot is engrossing, and you know the good guy will win in the end."[11]
Eragon was the third best-selling children's hardback book of 2003,[12] and the
second best-selling paperback of 2005.[13] It placed on the New York Times Best Seller
list for 121 weeks.[14] In 2006, the book was awarded with a Nene Award by the
children of Hawaii.[15] It won the Rebecca Caudill Young Reader's Book Award the same
year."
May God bless you and have a great time.
