i read this article somewhere, it was about a woman celebrating her 50th birthday.
when she and her husband were married, they had an agreement to say I LOVE YOU everyday of their lives and they did so, even if she's mad or does not feel good, she would tell her husband that she loved him, and her husband too, so for the past years that they were together, they never missed a day without saying I LOVE YOU to each other.
so on the dawn of her 50th birthday, she heard her husband's car roaring in the driveway, thinking that she'll miss saying "i love you" to him, she rushed out of their bedroom and reached her husband about to drive out, she knocked on his car's window and kissed her husband and told him that she loved him...
contented that she said and made him feel loved, she went inside and found a birthday card on top of their kitchen counter, she read it then went back to bed...
that afternoon, her husband died in a car crash, she was devastated and sad. what made the matters worse was, his car crashed to another car, driven by a 21 year old drunk driver, who suffered just some minor bruises and scratches...
her friends was so surprised that she was so calm and composed. and she seemed okay.
after a year, she was asked by one of them, how she did it, how she remained so calm during her ordeal with the death of her husband. and she recounted their pact, as husband and wife to tell and show that they love each other, everyday of their life. what made it easier for her to take in that her husband's dead was that the last words she said to him was I LOVE YOU...
after reading that article, i always made it a point to tell my husband and those i love that i love them...sometimes i was mad at them, but still, i would say i love you on the end every text messages that i send them. i would rant and nag my husband through text but still, at the end of that message is the word I LOVE YOU and i would never have periods at the end of each message
so if you really love those around you, let them know, show them, but sometimes words alone or actions alone are not enough, they have to see and feel and hear that we love them,
a quote in the movie MY BESTFRIEND'S WEDDING, "if you love someone and you really feel that you love that person, say it out loud that very moment you felt it, or the feeling is just wasted and goes away"
make it a habit to tell them you love them, it will not only make you feel good, but it will surely make their day...SMILE AND SAY I LOVE YOU...MAI
I LOVE YOU RAYMOND, I LOVE YOU ARVEE, I LOVE YOU NANAY AND TATAY

wow what an inspiring and motivating stony! Just to confess I really had never before realised this. Of course there is an impact of words and how they are conveyed.
Surely I too will try to apply this one. Thanks a lot for such a nice piece.
