Oh you haven't got them yet, well I hope you dont get them, but if you do, get ready for the ride of your life, my sister was 16 when she first got them and they were in her throat and she couldn't eat much. but at least if you get it now you wont have to worry about getting it later, because they say you can only get it once, well thats what they say.

I was already 15 before I got the chicken pox. It was the worse two weeks of my middle school career because I also got strep throat, a cold, and the stomach flu in the process. One of my teachers ended up not letting me take some quizzes I missed and it was just horrible. Darn little brother had to go and get chicken pox. Grr!

In the throat? That sucks - I hate just having a sore throat so I can't imagine what that would be like.

Woe! I know that must have been rough, to have all those illnesses at one time, me and my sisters all had the chicken pocks at the same time, my big sister was 16 and my middle sister was 14 and I was 13, but my big sister had it the worst of all of us because they were in her throat, and none of us could eat much we all had to go through it together for 2 and half weeks, it was awful.

Funny you should ask that question because they are going around again! I never had them in my life and the doctor said now that I am nearing 60, they could be deadly to me, so for now I can't be around my sister, my niece, my nephew, or any of their kids because the whole house has come down with them! Also one of my friend's grand kids, (that live with her) has them so I can't be around her either!

My great grandmother had them when she was over 90 years old, thats how me and my sisters got it, my mom went to visit my great grandmother where she was living, and when my mom came back home me and my sisters cought them 2 days later, and my big sister had it the worst, because the were down her throat, and we all really could not eat much, boy was I glad when it was over it lasted for over 2 weeks.

Hey there! I was nine years old when I have them. It was very itchy and uncomfortable. I was also running a fever that time, I guess it's also one of the symptoms or effects of it. It lasted for more than a week.

I was in first grade so I was about 6 years old when I got them. I had to miss about two weeks of school because I was pretty sick. When I got back to school I can remember hating it cause I had to spend just about every recess inside working on the work that I had missed because I was sick. I still have some scars I think on my back from the chicken pocks.

I had just turned 5 and was in kindergarten. That was back when school did not start until September and as long as you were 5 by the time school started then you were there. I remember my Daddy did not want to miss work( He did not miss unless he was in the hospital). So he covered in Calamine lotion and sent me off to school. Of course, he told me not to tell anyone that I had chicken pocks. So, I did what any 5 year old would have I suppose. I went to the teacher and raised my shirt and told her that I had chicken pocks and started scratching like crazy. LOL I still laugh every time I think of it. Needless to say that my Daddy had to come get me. The teacher freaked out. She told me not to come back until they were gone. My Daddy was not very happy either. I made him lose a whole days worth of pay because I could not keep my mouth shut. Nothing has changed I still can't keep my mouth shut. LOL

I was 14 when I got the chicken pox. I had them really bad and they lasted for almost two months. I was extremely sick from them. I had a fever of about 101 degrees for two weeks, then it spiked to 105 degrees after my grandmother finally let me take a shower. She warned me that it would drive them back in and that they would itch worse if I took a shower, but I was so ready for a nice hot shower. She was right, it was the worse pain and itching that I can remember ever having. My entire back is covered with scars, along with a few places on my arms and stomach. My scars bumbed up in stead of going in though. They kind of look like blisters, or the little bubble when you have a tb test. I just hope that if my daughter gets them, she gets them at a very young age.

I was around 7 when I developed the chicken pox...it started off as an itchy rash on my back. I was out of school for a couple of weeks.

i was 10 and of course it was the beginning of summer and it was so uncomfortable. i have one tiny scar from it. calamine lotion doesn't work. now they have a shot so kids won't get it. 4 of mine had it and that was before they had the shot and the baby of course won't get it. even for my kids they got it when it was hot out and they had it everywhere! what a yucky virus to have.

i know i had them but i cannot remember the exact age. i think i was relatively young though like maybe 5 or 6 at the most. i remember itching in places i could not reach or get to like inside my throat. it was quite uncomfortable to say the least. they did not have the vaccine when i was a child. the mumps were far worse because they were so painful.

I think I was around 12 when i got chicken pox. God it was so itchy. Thank God it comes only once in a lifetime. I definitely don't want it to come again. I remember when I had chicken pox my elder brother would keep teasing for scratching, I got so angry I prayed he gets it too so that he would what it is to have CP.God did answer my prayer,he ended up with chicken pox in 2 days. My scars had dried up by that time and I was almost through with my chicken pox. The worst part was(lucky guy) he got chicken pox around exam time and he could skip his exams. I was through CP by that time so I had to give my exams.Poor me.
