Canadian Politics- a joke? The economic crisis

Canada

I'm a Canadian and not proud of it. I'm one of 1.4 million jobless Canadians. The unemployment rate has increased to 7.7%, the highest in 5 years. Our politicians are promising billions of dollars to create 190,000 jobs over the next 2 years. That will not help with the over 600,000 jobs lost this year alone. Just last month, Ontario lost 87,000 jobs. Ontario, being 36% of Canada's economy has suffered the most job loss, over 300,000. I hate to say that I live in Ontario No one in my house has a job. A $3000 a month mortgage and it can't be paid. It's crazy and no one wants to do anything about it. I can't believe the auto workers attitudes. Not all of them are negative, but others have the worst attitudes out there. Some say that they don't like the contract they got(GM workers). Losing a $1700/year bonus, having to pay $30/month for benefits isn't much for the union to ask for. When you get $20/hr to do almost nothing, why complain? At least they have jobs. I'd work for GM and gladly lose th bonus and work for $15/hr with benefits. That would be a luxury for me. I'm just tired of it. The mayor of Toronto doesn't care. He was on TV the other day. He didn't have much to say at all about the crisis most of us have to deal with daily. Worrying about if you'll have a roof over your head or not, where your next meal will come from, if you'll be able to get a job at all. I hate Canada.

It isn't just Canada, I assure you, things are tough all over and things are being handled with incomeptence and arrogence all over. What ever you do, don't let them use this to bully you guys in to accepting any kind of world influence over your economy. Every time that g8 or g20 or any of those "g" groups get to gether, it makes me pretty nearvous.

I think you guys should begin more massive support for parties other than the conservative, liberal and NDP parties. One of our own here on Mylot has a prettu good ting going, BcMike. The B.C. Refederation party. I know it's just a BC thing right now, but you should talk to him and see what it would take to get an Ontario Franchize going. I spent a lot of time in northeats Ontario, the more rural areas around Brockville, and it seemed to me that most people I knew there would gladly support such a party. Mike Summers is an exemplory picture of what a political figure should be.

Did you notice though that not many supported the Green party in November during voting? I would have, but I didn't hear much about them.

It isn't just Canada. The big problem is most politicians are millionaires when they go into politics. These people have no idea how people like you and I must live. If you tried to tell them they wouldn't listen to you and even if they did they wouldn't believe you. They are totally out of touch with the people that are paying them. Art

Can't say things are any better to the south. It doesn't matter where you live right now, the economy is screwed.
