do you believe everything people put in their profile? cause as have seen on other places some people lie big time on their profile and say they make so much money or have some kind of great job when they really don't have either.they must not think that other people see it and know it's not true.would you tell lies to make yourself look better or tell the truth so you can't be caught in a lie?

i dont see why any profilers would lie to be honest but some probably do.
its a sad fact that some people find their lives inadequate and feel they have to lie to make themselves seem more successful, happier, richer etc. We have one such person in my staffroom at work. She is actually a nice person when she's telling the truth, it just seems that she cant help herself from trying to make out she's more interesting than she is/
I must admit, I kinda feel sorry for these people. honesty is so important, if only they would realise this.

I don't really give much attention on myLotters' profiles so i really can't tell if they're telling lies. But it's a good point you have there. I see no reason to lie about it and we're just here to enjoy the discussions and not to be bragging our achievements in life. Just be yourself and you'll be fine. There's really no need to impress.

A lot of people construct an online persona. That persona may or may not be a true reflection of their offline self. Some people embellish their profiles on different sites in the same way that they embellish their resume. I actually don't spend time working on profiles anywhere that I can think of. I prefer to keep them to the minimum amount of detail necessary. I never feel obligated to give personal information (and I don't think anyone should ever feel pressured to do so). I'm very honest when posed questions and, if there is something I don't wish to share, I'll say that honestly too. So, no, I won't lie to make myself look better. I am who I am, I'm respectful and I treat people in the manner I would like to be treated. I hope that makes me likeable enough :) If not, that's ok too. We can't please everyone, all the time. I will never be someone I'm not.

I believe some people will put the true things in it,because I am this kind of person. So usually,I will believe them, except the things which are really hard for most people to believe.

Hi ekimflow! I think there is a lot of people who live very different lives online than they do for real. I also think that some people don't feel like the internet is the real world and they want to be the person they say they are on the net versus the truth. I am very vague when it comes to sharing info about myself. I guess myLot is one of the only places that I have a profile. I'm honest on mine. I don't think of this place as a fantasy world.
