kobe bryant as of present time is the most famous basketball player in the nba. this was actually proven when he was cheered when he attended the olympic games in beijing. but le bron james is slowly building a name for himself. will they actually surpass jordan's record and popularity?

I dont think that they'll pass his popularity, maybe other records but look at music, people still refer to tupac and biggie when talking about best rappers, people still refer to hank williams and johnny cash when talking about best country singers. michael jordan (lol I seriously almost typed michael jackson) was the original great and will always be remembered I think, but I'm sure those two combined will probably break every one of michael jordans records except for those that are just pertaining to the bulls.

i don't think kobe will surpass jordan, even he is now the mostfamous basketball player in the nba.because he has already 31 years old.but lebron has only 25 years old,and i think he will surpass jordan, but even he surpass jordan, jordan is jordan, lebron is lebron, that is not important.
jordan let the world know what is nba,i don't what will lebron give us.

Popularity, no.. But records, possible. Although Lebron has more chances in breaking it than Kobe coz the latter is 6 years older. If Lebron would stay healthy, he could even break Kareem Abdul Jabbar's points and some MVP awards. He's young to get matured in the game. Plus, he's improving every year.. But so far, Michael Jordan is the greatest basketball player ever. Let's see if Kobe and Lebron retired and let's compare their achievements to Jordan..

In terms of popularity, I don't think that both Kobe & Lebron will surpass that of Michael Jordan at his prime. But in terms of records, the scoring record could be surpass by kobe and lebron before they retire, but the olympic and world championship record of jordan could not be surpass by either lebron or kobe.

I don't see Kobe doing that. The reason is, Kobe, without a good team, can't produce really well. Now look at Lebron and maybe Wade. Wade this year, leads the league in scoring, and look at his team! They're nothing compared to the Lakers or the Cavs. The reason why im saying Lebron might break the records, is because he can create his own scoring chances, while keeping his teammates in the game. He's a great team player. Even though Michael Jordan played most of his career with the bulls when they had a great supporting cast, i'm sure he could have still done great with out them.
