Global money Crisis?

Where has all the money gone? Companies are folding all over the place people are out of work, because people have less money to go around? So where has the money gone? Everyone says the banks have made bad lending desicions, so they have lent the money to someone who in turn will have spent it somewhere. Has just one person got all the money and are holding onto it? Maybe it has all just evaporated into thin air?
