No I dont smoke. And now that you ask I think smoking is a sin because it it effects the health of others around the person who dosent even smoke. They are the passive smokers. The passive smokers who do not even smoke are 5 times more at risk of having diseases like lung cancer. So I think smoking is a sin.A message to all mylotian...IF YOU LOVE YOUR FAMILY- QUIT SMOKING!!

Hi!I consider smoking a sin because it harms one and it also harms those around you more.Let me quote from some religious text because sin is a term more associated with religion. 1)In hinduism harming others is a 'paapa'(evil or sin).We know how smoking is harmful to others who are near a person who is smoking. 2)'From the purity of food follows the purity of internal organs.'Chandogya upanishad upanishad.vii .26.2.So we are supposed to keep the internal organs clean.Smoking does just the opposit. 3)'For ye are buoght with a price:therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are Gods'(1 Corinthians).Ofcourse we cannot glorify God with ciggrette smoke. 4)As per Old Testament which describes sin as'sins are acts of viilence against aothers,or ways of secretly hurting or harming others'(Ps 64;1-6).Though here we are not secretly hurting others but others are harmed due to smoking by a person. 5)According to Islam'Nor be hurt or injure others' says prophet Mohammed. 6)Again according to Quran'whomsoever drinks poison, thereby killing himself, will sip poison for ever in th Hell fire.'Smoking is a slow poison. 7)According to islam again one should follow the rule 'laa dhiraar wa laa dhiraar'-no harm and causing no harm. 8)Sikh Gurus-Guru Kabir,Guru Farid,Guru Nanak preached to quit smoking and prohibited it. These are some examples from the scriptures which justifies me when I say smoking is a sin. Have a nice day!!!

wow...that is so much! I have been smoking for almost 25 years but I never really smoked that much. Lately I cut my smoking to no more than 10 sticks a day. I used to finish a pack a day (that was when I was a lot younger though) and I can say I really did not feel well then. I hope your friend tries to minimize his smokes. It can really give him health problems. Learned it the hard way myself.

that is the only way to quit or cut down smoking, you either do it the hard way or you can never

Smoking is not a sin and it's really not that bad of a habit. I smoke about 10 aday and i feel great. Now whne I go out drinking and I end up smoking a whole pack in one night then I feel like crap. Everyhting is ok in moderation.

I consume 2-3 sticks a day, I only smoke if I feel sleepy or just bored on my work. Your friend is at risk of some respiratory diseases, literally that is not right at all. That is way to much smoke in a day.

Smoking is not a sin, it is more like doing harm to yourself. With your question I realized that I have been smoking for 11 years now. At first I smoked less and when I lived with parents as I didn't smoke at home. Now I smoke about 20 a day and sometimes feel that I need to decrease the amount or try to quit mostly when I find it hard to breathe or have some aches. But it;s a bit hard and haven;t succeeded yet.

its not a sin if you are smoking but if you are smoking about a year or so it is hard to remove from your daily habit
