The Sharia came into existence in the Swat Valley of Pakistan. Now, there will not be any freedom. The girl student will have to discontinue their studies. In fact, each and every girl school has been closed.
What is the meaning of all this. Taliban is a blot on the human dignity. They need to be crushed and here the government of Pakistan is unofficially giving recognition to them. Obama administration also favors a deal with 'good Taliban'. This is frustrating.
All women of the world need to be united to save those girl.

Taliban is a terrorist organization and it is spreading its tentacles in Pakistan slowly. Not only schools but other business institutions which deals with outside SWAT valley has been also closed effecting local people severely. It is not only the girl child that is suffering but also all the people who wants to lead a dignified life is also under severe pressure. People all over the world should unite to help Pakistani people from Taliban clutches.

Yes you are right, the issue of Taliban needs a global action. NATO is not sufficient to deal with them as we are seeing in Afghanistan. Obama administration should also come forward and engage Iran and Russia to tackle this menace. Only a collective action will wipe out this form of cruelty from our earth.

I dunno if Pakistan is going towards self destruction. I am not sure either if it will ever bounce back after all the beatings its getting. Terrorism is separate thing but putting this kind of limitations on girls especially is simply pathetic.
I believe that an organization like Taliban should be eradicated with brute force. There is no meaning of talking to them. Non-violence does not count these days. You have to knock out your opponent to win the contest, its as simple as this.
I hope I am not hurting anyone's sentiments.
happy mylotting

Oppression of girl child is not good. Can you please tell me more about Sharia? I am not aware of the laws that come into effect under Sharia.

Sharia is Islamic Law. If Sharia is there in a part then it would not be possible to run the administration on natural justice theory. The biggest drawback with Sharia is its interpretation. It is not such a bad thin ,per se, but it has been misinterpretation. The position of women is degraded like an animal in Sharia, music is not allowed, modern education is not allowed so no scientific thinking and many more negatives.

If the problem is of misinterpreting the rules, then I don't think it would make much of a difference even if Sharia is not implemented now. Nobody can do anything if the masses do not want their female population to be empowered. If we actually want their female population to be independent, we need to educate the common public about the benefits that they will have if their female child is educated. We don't need to abolish Sharia. We only need the common public to understand that Sharia is not good for them. Then Sharia as well as all the other rules that have prejudices against women would automatically be abolished.
