Home Remedy or Cleaning Remedies...Do you know of any?

One hot summer day I noticed a stench coming from my youngest son's room. It was the smell of urine. He wets the bed and even though I was washing sheet and blankets constantly, it didn't dawn on me that the urine was soaking into the mattress, but of course it was. So I did some Googling about how to remove urine odors. I found a great one. It worked. Believe me, the mattress was soaked with old and new pee. Anyway, take some corn starch and sprinkle in on the mattress. The take a spray bottle with water in it and spray lightly the corn starch. Then let it dry. Then vacuum the dry powder off the mattress. The powder was actually a dull yellow from where it was soaking up the urine. After I completed those steps twice, the smell was gone from the mattress. It was a miracle!! Does anyone else have any interesting home remedies or cleaning remedies????
