No, I do not think its necessary to go abroad in order to learn english, it is necessary however to find people to converse the language with. It is necessary to use the language in order to learn it so if you want to 'perfect' your english you can do this by talking to people in English, if it means going abroad then perhaps that is your way, but its not necessary. I'd like to think I am good in English but I haven't been to the US and have only visited Hongkong once and its mainly a Chinese country.

Do you think it's necessary to go abroad to learn english? Hello friend, no I do not think it's necessary to go abroad to learn english, I think that you can learn it by going to your local book store and picking up a few books that teach it. It also will help to be around a few english speaking people but if you can't be around any of them in your real life, mylot is a good place to learn it. You can add me as a friend and I will help you out as much as possible. Take care and happy mylot!

I don't think so. Here in our country, kids study English as early as preparatory school and kindergarten till college so I suppose that's enough years to learn the language enough for you to use it in writing or verbally. What might help more is read English literature, newspapers, books, articles and watch English movies. That way, you would have better understanding of the language. Going abroad is just too expensive and would not be suitable for everyone.

I think that to learn any language fluently you must spend time speaking with the natives of that language. I am going to be a teacher of the English language, and it is very important to spend time communicating in the language you are tryong to learn. It is a scientificaly sound argument to say that you have to speak with native speakers to become comleatly proficient.

learning english is a form of discipline meaning sacrifice on one's part, in this case, time is needed. i've never been abroad yet my writings get published online by an online publishing company. i love reading english books, i've always watched english shows and i practice the art of speaking english by reading aloud and even talking(if i'm alone) . i've also been a disc jockey .
