Well, my husband ( a smoker for about 20 plus years) has decided to quit. He knew that he could not do it on his own so he got a prescription for Chantix and he took his first pill today. I am so proud of him and I hope that he is successful at it!
He will improve his quality of life and he will be sure to have a lot more money.
He spends about $450 a month for cigarettes and he will be able to save that if he stops. I told him today that if he stops, he can buy a truck that he has been looking at as it won't be any extra money out of our pocket. I am sure that he will enjoy riding in it.
Have you or someone you know taken this medicine? If so, did it help?

Good luck to him carolscash. At least he's taken that step and actually got a prescription to help him. Unfortunately my hubby did quit for about 13 days and went back to it. I'm still praying for him though!

Well, I am not sure if this medicine is working or not. He has slowed up but he is still smoking and I thought that he would be over the urge by now. I hope that he will stop soon. I know he would sure save some money. He may have to this week due to the fact that he isn't working and I don't have the money to buy them for him.

I haven't taken the meds.
But just wanted to stop by and say well done to your hubby.
As a smoker myself I know how hard it is to quit.
Sounds like he has got alot of support from you.

I know that it is hard to quit as I have heard others say that. I was all for the Chantix as it seems to be more medically sensible for him that some of the other ways that are out there.
