Brand new full HD 42' Tv

Well i just got a brand new full hd television and i was wondering why i still have the lines that go up and down the screen. I was just wondering if i could solve this problem or if i need to pay for some one to come and tune it in for me. If you have had this problem please help.

Please be more specific as to what kind of lines. Do you mean the black bars on either side of the picture? Alot of television channels and movies are not made for wide screen yet and so the television station will broadcast in a small picture size. I have noticed this myself since we got our wide screen.

I have a 40" and have had no problems like that.
Perhaps it is your wires?? They tried to get me to buy new ones but mine are fine!
I'm no tech expert so if I was you I would consult the manufacturer just in case you have a faulty set.
If it is new it should be under warranty.
