I am not usually one to brag about myself but I just had to share .
As most of you know I care for 4 of my family who are disabled ,my parents who both have Alzheimer's and my son and my hubby ,
I am always busy running around but one year ago yesterday the 13th I decided I was going to do something for ME ,
I started to slim , to cut out Carbohydrates and sugar and eat healthy , no tea or coffee ( this is allowed ) but I wanted to be healthy .
exactly one year on I have lost 4st 2lbs , (58lbs)and I am down from a size 24 to a size 14 , I have so much more energy and I feel so good , so don't let anyone tell you that you are too old to diet ,
Sorry if this post is a bit like blowing my own trumpet but I am just so happy and excited I wanted to share xx
Wee xx

That is great and wonderful to here. IT's great to be healthy and to lose weigh and feel healthy. That is incredible that you were still able to lose the weight even though with the stresses of your everyday life. That is incredible! I will be telling my mom because she has been taking care of my grandma for 7 years and she has Alzheimers and to now know someone else who is taking car of both of your parents and son and husband and still able to lose weight will surely give her some more motivation to do so.

WOW great job it is hard to do at any age. And I hope you continue to do such a great job of taking care of yourself. Just remember you are better taking care of others when you take care of yourself!

Who says you can't blow your own trumpet? Point them to Wolfie and I'll howl at them! Congratulations nan! Most of us tend to be overly modest about our achievements in life and seem to downgrade them or shrug them off, you have given hope to others by your discussion and people will read it I am sure with interest. I could never diet myself I love my food to much, for me exercise is far more preferable and healthy and it fights off my depression and I can eat whatever I want, even chocolate LOL and mums homemade cooking. So if you have a spare trumpet or a trombone I'll come over and we could make up an orchestra xxxx

Just to let you know, my son is going in for surgery. We have to be there Wed. and surgery is Thurs.. They are putting rods in his back and it is very risky for him because of some of his other problems. We will be gone no less than a week, maybe more. Please say a few prayers for him. I sure am glad that you are back and taking good care of yourself.

Congratulations Margaret! I was so excited when I read your discussion, hearing that you have lost so much weight over the past year - it's incredible! Did you use the diet I sent you or something else?
Blow your own trumpet all you want, because you will be an inspiration to many here, and I'm so proud of you.

Hiya pal and thanks xx ,
It is an on-line forum I joined , The people on it are all so supportive to each other ,
We swap recipes and help each other along the way when it gets difficult but to be honest I didn't find it hard after the first couple of weeks :)

I'm really happy about your good news, weemam, and, hopefully, some of your willpower and determination will rub off on me.I have also been losing weight gradually, but I lack the discipline that I need to put aside the negative habits that have an adverse effect on my health. Your success story has encouraged me and challenged me to do even better! You are right to be proud of your accomplishment.

You have every reason to blow your own trumpet. That is great what you have done for yourself. I wish I could work on myself and get my health up there where I can at least do things. I admire you Margaret and I applaude you lady, fine job you have done. Keep up the good work.

Admiring you for taking care 4 of your loved ones. A great daughter, mom and wife. So patient, so loving, you're a role model. Yet, still enjoying life and appreciating getting slimmer, this is one post inspiring readers. While there are few complaining of their hardship in taking care of a disabled family member, here's a super lady taking care of four and yet can think and do slimming for herself. That's turning negative to positive. Keep it up, weemam...You deserve all the blessings...

Wow, you sound like a lovely person, really inspirational for looking after all those people. I sometimes get stressed just from bringing up my one child and helping another family member who often needs help!
It's great that you lost so much weight and are feeling so much healthier, well done. You have every right to blow your own trumpet!

wow, it is so good~~ congrats~
I forced my hubby to lose weight by controlling his diet. He won't eat 4 hours before bed, I think it is good too.
