Kids no longer have te long summer vacations that we use to?????????

I haven't really noticed that the school year was getting longer and longer. I think that it is a good thing though. It gives my children extra learning time. I lot of countries have school all year around. So I think that we are just trying to catch up to them.

When I first started school, school started in September and we got out in June. Then, as the years passed, school started in the middle of August and then we didn't get out until the middle of June. It was a huge pain to have to deal with it. Especially when every year we'd find out that school was going to start earlier and earlier and earlier and it was a pain. I hated having to start earlier knowing that I was losing weeks of vacation at a time.

hello susanshayavon yes, i remember the long summer breaks that i used to enjoy having when that i was still attending school. man those were the days, if i only would have realized it back then. lol but i have two boys that attend school, one is in the third grade, and the other son is in the fifth grade, and they get out around the end of May, and then they will go back to school around the first part of August. and yes, the summer vacations that the school kids get these days, is cut way short compared to the summer vacations that we used to have when that we were still in school. i always enjoyed spending time with my friend's when that i used to be out of school on summer break, spending the night, hanging out and doing neat things. and my parents used to always take us on a summer vacation every year as well, and we would usually go to the beach somewhere. take care and have a beautiful afternoon.

Well I'm only 18 and we didn't have those long 3 month holidays, we had the short ones. We had three sets of holidays with two weeks off, and then we had the big summer holiday with 6 weeks off. :) Those were the good times.
