Have you ever been to Carlsbad Caverns?

We went last year. I was not that excited about it. I figured it would be okay but I was honestly shocked. It was so breathtakingly beautiful. I had such a wonderful time. And took so many pictures. Even the ride up to the caverns was absolutely astounding. I would love to have a house up there. After we saw the caverns we hung around and waited on the bat flight. That was wonderful. Millions of bats just coming out of the caves and off to find food to eat. Although I did not get any pictures of that. I did get one of the hole in the cave that they came out of before they started. You are not allowed to take pictures as it messes with the sound waves and it makes them not want to come out. It was all such a wonderful experience though. Have any of you ever been?

I have been twice and both tims I was very impressed and learned new things. I also visited Mamouth Cave in the east and they do not even come colse. Carlsbad is by far the best. I would like to see the Jewel Caves in the Dakota and see how that compaires.

I have been there twice. I live about five hours away, and I think I will try to go again soon. It really is fun isn't it? You are right about the beauty of it too. When you think of going to visit a cave you don't think it can be so great. The last time we were there we stayed in White City right by the caverns. We went to the little museum there and saw the Vaudeville style show they had. What fun!
