Do you think this practice is good. It doesn't take no time to heat water in a pot to heat the bottle rather than micro wave it. I do not think if I had a new born baby I would use the micro wave to heat the bottle. I visited a friend the other day, her daughter just had a baby and was using the micro wave to heat the bottle. I thought that was being rather lazy, because personally I would have heated it in a pot.
Do you think it is a good idea to use the micro wave to heat a new born baby's bottle?

I was told that heating a babies bottle in the microwave can burn a babies mouth. Parts of the formula will get hotter than others. I would not do something life that. I don't trust it. I have also read that you should not do this.

I personally feel that microwaving a baby's bottle specially if it is plastic is not right, if it is glass then still it is all right. People do not because of being lazy but when hungary child cry a lot and to do it quickly this quick microwaving is done. I feel this should be avoided.

i mircowaved all my kids bottles. but you have to be really careful when doing it. the milk gets hot spots in it and can burn the baby. you have to really shake it up good to make sure that there are no hot spots in the milk before you give it to the baby. even when heating on the stove you have to worry about the hot spots. you don't want to burn the baby.
good luck and be careful

According to me, No ! this practice is not healthy can cause harm. Some research has proved that micro wave has certain particles minute small from earlier micro waved food that mixes in the current product, causing reactions and this is not good for the delicate baby.
Never micro wave it, Heat it is a pot, natural safe and healthy!

I wouldn't microwave a baby's bottle I really have always thought it was unsafe. Microwaves are linked to radiation I have heard. This is just my opinion.
I did find this information about microwaving a baby's bottle (formula).

I personally do not know what effects on health it has to microwave drinks for babies, but I have known many mothers who have done this. I guess the most important thing is what is actually being microwaved i.e are all the plastics safe to microwave and does microwaving have any effect on the foodstuff which is being subjected to the microwave?

That's what I'm thinking, it may be okay, but personally I wouldn't risk it. It is just as easy to heat the bottle in a pot.

It is very dangerous to heat a babies bottle in the microwave. The milk inside doesn't heat evenly in the microwave, so it may feel warm on the outside, but it could be very hot in the middle.
I always heated my babies bottles in hot water from the tap. I put them in a container and ran hot water over the bottles until the milk was luke warm.

I would never microwave baby anything; bottle, food, cereal, etc. (I actually don't own a microwave). It heats unevenly and could burn in some spots. When mine were infants, I would microwave a cup of water and sit the bottle in the cup to heat up. Once we moved I just heated water on the stove and put the bottle in that. While the water is heating, I'd use those few minutes for diaper changes, and little clean ups. It seemed more "mommy-like" to change the baby and dance around while the bottle was heating instead of quickly "pacifying" the baby with the bottle.
