He has a speech problem. Most of the stuff that comes out of his mouth I understand. Some I have a hard time figuring it out.
Today, he was trying to tell me something and I could not figure out what he was saying.
He kept saying something that sounded like "vegetables". So I said "vegatables?" he said no. I said are you saying "lost balls?" he said no. It was like playing charades. I felt so bad for him.
Anyway after 10 minutes of trying to figure it out and him getting so frustrated I asked my 10 year old to help.
She figured it out thank goodness. He was saying "lunchables".
He stopped crying after that.
I don't know what to do. He gets speech therapy twice a week.
He is much better than he was but I still have a hard time understanding him.
What bothers me is I see kids his age and younger that speak clearly and here my child is struggling to get the words out.
Anyone else have a child that struggles with speech? Is there anything I could do to help him?

bless his heart. my soon to be three year old dont talk clearly but i can understand some of what he says. a few of the kids in his preschool class talk plain as day. each child is different and if your son is getting speech therapy then it is sure to help. does he get to talking quickly and cant get the words out? you can try to work with him as you speak to him which im sure you do anyhow. just dont compare how well or not so well he is doing with the other kids his age. i know its hard cause i find myself doiing the same thing. i would think that as long as he is talking then just continue the therapy and help him as much as possible at home. im no expert and im sorry if i was no help. good luck to you!!

He gets the words out, I just can't understand him. I read to him every night hoping that will help him pronounce the words better so I could understand him.
You were helping just fine :). Thanks for responding.
