Now during the elections in India it has become popular quite...d presence of celebrities during campaigns. Also retired film personalities r also entering into politics..mostly just before elections ...n now most parties have hordes of celebrities in them. But i can't stop wondering..how does it help d campaign..wen d votes depends more on d works they do for their country rather dan on such glitz.I don't think it helps more dan creating a sensation than gathering votes..wat do u think..??

Well if the people who like certain celebrities will come to see them and get autographs. At the same these fans will also listen to their idols. So if celebrities come to politics and tell you this politician is good ,than yes majority of the fans will follow. Like what you said it creates problems than solutions, but unfortunately there many people who do not see beyond or choose not to see beyond the intentions.

Wat u say s true..but i don't think people should b such immature in beliveing wat other people says rather dan in believing their own instinct.Afterall its not about selling any product.

Try telling that to "them". People literally voted for Ex-president Bush in the past just because he preached about god, and what god wants for America. So yes there are people around. People lack the knowledge to see it though. But hopefully people will learn about their mistakes the hard way.

Well, first and foremost it will attract people to the event because they want to see the celebrity, hopefully get close and even get an autograph or more. This is not unusual. Second, the celebrity's appearance acts as an endorsement of the politicians. Fans will listen and follow their adored star's recommendation. Pretty stupid way to go about one's vote but that's how it is.

Dats wat i meant..its kinda stupid..Once there in an Indian newspaper a cartoon was published..depicting politians arguing about how much celebrities they have..n d voters remaking.."No matter ..they never cared for having us."

I think actors should just shut up and act. Very little irritates me more than to see one of those full of themselves, faux educated, wastes of oxygen up there blathering on something they know nothing about and telling me the time has come to vote for someone. Same goes with musicians. I don't turn on C-span to see music videos, and I don't turn on MTV to see politics.

not a fan of so called celebrities getting involved, but than again whats a celebrity its a human nothing more nothing less, theres no such thing as a celebrity as people put them on pedestals even tho they are only people so nah if there was so called celebrities in elections etc etc it would really cheese me off lol.
