are they running out of movie ideas?

I've noticed alot lately when surfing the channels or going to the theatre and take the time to sit down and relax and watch a movie that movies are starting to seem to be all the same.
Do you find movies are becoming more and more similar to each other?
What is your favorite genre of movie to watch at home and at the theatre?

I do. Most of the movies now seem to be crime related..Like all the CSI types shows. DOnt get me wrong, I do enjoy them, but a bigger variety would be nice!
I still like comedy or a good old fashioned love story.
Tonight I am watching RIchard GEre...OOps I meant Nights in Rodanthe...or something like that...who cares, as long as hes in it, it will be a good movie!
