Can you kill an armed robber to defend yourself?

If one kills an arrmed robber, will he be judged as a murderer? The bible told us not to kill. One could in the process of defending himself spill blood. In december 15th 2007, peter, was relaxing in his room upstairs, while the wife and three children were watching televsion downstairs. Suddenly, armed robbers attacked and shot the wife and three kids to death. Then peter was able to get his own double barrel raffle before they could reach him upstairs. Peter was contempleting whether to shoot the robbers first or allow them to kill him instead of being called a murderer. If you were peter, will you not defend yourself?

I would just have to face the judgment, because only God himself would stop me from killing them after they killed my family that way...

I'm certain that God will not hold one who is defending their own life- or that of their loved ones, guilty of murder.
This law applies to those who kill for any other reason other than defending their own lives or those of their loved ones.

I would kill anyone who killed my family. I would already be insane because my family was gone so if i didn't get off for defending myself which is not probable i would plead insanity. I think self defense would be appropriate in that situation though. Tell Peter to kill those suckers who killed his family!!!!! By the way Good discussion , I bet you get a lot of replies on this one.

i will definately kill an armed robber.. do you know the word armed means someone who is in possession of dangerous weapons and that person can kill so why would i waste time to kill an armed man talkless an armed robeer... let him come

By all means, blow this robber away. You're defending your territory, family, and life. If someone calls Peter a murderer for defending himself and his family, then they're full of it.
