Blog: What are the topics you blog about?

I have recently started my own blog. At first, I didn't know what to put there. I first looked at blogs of other people and found out that, there are so many categories to choose from. It will depend on your purpose and interests. Since I am a frustrated poet, most of my posts are poems. Sometimes I share my experiences and make articles which I think are interesting.
What is great about keeping blogs is that you can have as many as you want. I only have one blog at the moment, and it already consumes a lot of my time, spare time, actually. As you will notice when you visit it, it's a work in progress.
Do you also have a blog of your own? What kind is it? What are the topics you post?
If you have time, please visit my blog at:

Cheers and happy myLotting!

I have 4 blogs. Two of them are about writing, one is on positive thinking and one is for anything else I want to post or promote.
I notice you are a Helium writer. Sometimes I write blog posts on the same topics I have written about at Helium, then I add a link to one or more of my articles to the relevant blog post.

Blogs can be about anything: the only reason they're blogs and not normal web pages is because they're updated a lot and use special software.
You'd be surprised how popular poetry blogs are: a couple of the most visited 'writing' blogs on one of the sites I use are poetry.
I have four blogs at the moment: one is a personal journal of life as a full-time carer (which I don't maintain much). The main one is my writing blog (the one in my profile), where I chatter on about style, grammar, content, writing, blogging and so on (which reminds me - I must do the second Blogging Basics entry!). I have another which is for fun stuff found on the web, actually owned by my partner (I just help her post). The final one is for reviews of whatever I happen to be watching, reading or whatever.
I'm also doing a paid blog job at the moment (for another week), posting on tech news, films and other geek stuff.
The advice of one previous poster is probably best: post about whatever you like for a while, keep it categorised, then separate out any 'niche' content into its own blog. That'll leave your first one with just poetry and personal stuff.

Looks nice! Weird thing is that it only seems to take up about 60% of my browser width, but that's probably because it's Internet Exploder...

hey spike! Very interesting!!! I like what you said. I was thinking of making poems or stories in a separate blog. I can only write if I'm not seeing patients. Being a part time doctor is my other job! LOL. I just started writing, so I'm really interested to know more. What to write about. What kind of style to use. You know stuff like that. sometime when I write for helium, a formal article turns into a creative writing format so, I really have to hone this skill.
I'd be glad if you could mentor me. Call me padawan, you'll be O.B. 1-kanobi.
Will PM you later, it's time to save lives first.

i'm not sure if it's cheaper but to me gadgets are expensive here. but then again i'm broke most of the time anyways. i guess you have to compare the price to see where's cheaper to buy ;)

Saw your site! Very nice! The new ipod shuffle is really a cool new gadget. Is it true that it is more cheap to buy gadgets there? I was hoping to ask for a favor. He he he!
Anyway, let me know if it's ok. I sent you a friend request. Thank you for dropping by myLot!
Cheers!

I'm into Personal Development so my blog is about achieving happiness. The posts are mostly article types and introductions to self-improvement e-books. It is the only blog I update frequently, the other one only has one post - can't make up my mind what to do with it yet. I may start other blogs on self improvement, but for now I'm nurturing How to Achieve Genuine Happiness.
You can visit my blog at: http://howtoachievehappiness.blogspot.com
Blessings!

usually personal experiences. i have had several blog accounts but i only kept my personal blog updated. of course, usually it talks about what's been happening to me -- plans, improvements, latest happenings, memorable experience, when am i going to resign from my work, who am i with last weekend. you know, things like that.

Hi thaMARKER,
personal experiences trumps other topics... hehehe. that's what i learned so far about blogging. It helps if you are really passionate about your other interests. I have been thinking of making another blog, but, the one I have is taking a while to get some attention. But i'll get there soon.
thank you for dropping by myLot!
Cheers!

I have 3 blogs of my own, one is my personal blog - a sort of personal diary. I use it to treasure moments from my everyday life which I feel are worth remembering.
The other blog that I have is about the movies that I have wathced all through my life. I'm a big movie buff.
The third one is currently under construction, as I'm using it to store my college notes and be able to help my juniors get answers to basic questions of subjects from my graduation course.

Hello zorlone!
first of all I want to distinguish between blog and web. The main difference between blog and webs is the content and the author. Blog mainly contains the perception and general life of the owner which can be share in a blog and written by the blog's owner. Different with web, which can contain several issues, like news, sport, gossips, ect.
Ok, I have two active blog. The first one is my live diary in my mother toungue language. I love multiply to post it here. I want to make another one, because I think my blog is full. YOu know, I started blogging three years ago and have so many written here. I want to refresh it and make a new one to write.
The second one, I made it in wordpress.com which is mainly in English. I wrote my experience as a student in aboard there. Thanks for your discussion and happy mylotting!

i think if you wnat your blog to be sucsessful you have to find a niche and then likn up with others from that niche. you can just write about anything and hope people will come or just use a blog as a form expression. I have four all about different things. I do it for the money so they are tailored to make money and spit my political views. good Luck

Hi Z,
I blog about life, love , learning and the thought in between. I have 10 visible blogs...lol... I still have 4 invisible sites. Oh yes, I'll have to attend to them. I'm replying to your discussion because it interests me and this would also be for the interest of a friend we could both help. You know what I'm talking about. perhaps by next month we could finally help our friend. Good luck with your blog and happy blog hopping.

Well, I just started on my own blog. Honestly, I don't know what to write either.. But my primary purpose in creating it is because I want to write there all about the happenings in my teaching. I don't know much how to organize my blog. Can you help me with that?Thank you very much..

Hi masata,
that is nice, an online diary. but doesn't people stumble upon it once and a while? maintaining a blog is hard work, i would assume that you have become very busy that's why you abandoned your computing blog.
Thank you for dropping by mylot!
Cheers!
