The economy is getting better since the stock market is
improving and this is always a good indicator. Well, is
a good idea to save money anytime we want something extra
instead of charging everything on our credit cards. We need to go
back to basics again ,and I think that you guys are in
the right track. Hope you can save enough soon ,so you guys can
have your computer, iPod ,and CD player.

Ah... saving..... it's hard to save nowadays LOL
I am kind of saving for something big and expensive. Still trying to buy the in laws part of out house. So we're kind of saving for that. A big goal :)
We just had someone coming to appraise our house yesterday. He didn't give us the price yet, will send the report within 5 days. When we receive it we will know for sure if we will be able to do it or not.

The first thing my fiance and I are saving for is our wedding. Of course we're also spending on it, but we're saving for the food, and for the boots, unity ceremony, etc. We're also saving for our future, I think I've told you before, my fiance and I do not have a job so we're earning all we can online. We're lucky to have his parents help us, it cuts down on the stress meter, even though where I'm concerned, I'm stressed just making money. Anyway, we're saving for video games and books but they aren't as important as saving for our future. I think both my fiance and I would like to help contribute to the household but whether his parents will allow us is another question, we're still saving for that and any other thing we happen to think we want or need.
Great Discussion. I hope you can get your ipod and c.d. player, and that your husband can get his computer. The economy does suck but that doesn't mean we can't stop saving for and spending money on things we want and need.

Yeah I agree. The economy really sucks right now. But as for me, I'm still trying my best to save money that I will use when I will look for a job after I graduate so that I won't have to ask money from my parents anymore.

Well, right now I just signed up for a savings account to try and save a bit of money for an apartment. My partner and I need a place to stay while I finish school and she can work. I thought it would be a good idea to put a good pit of my check into the savings so it could collect some interest for a while before I have to use it for apartment living.

I was saving for Lasik eye surgery and I finally did it last September. It took me about
a year to save enough. It cost me almost $3000 but it was worth every penny and then
some. It is so nice to not have to wear glasses or contacts after wearing them for over
40 years.
Now I am saving to buy a car. I moved from Winnipeg to Calgary and my car was in bad
shape and probably wouldn't have made the trip so I left it behind. So now I need to
buy one so I am saving for it. I hope to find a decent one for about $3000 and I don't
think it will be a problem as there are a lot of people out there that need money so they
tend to sell stuff for cheaper than it is worth.
I have about half of what I need so far and I should have the other half by summer time,
I hope. It would be nice to own my own car again and not have to always borrow my
daughters.

right now i am saving for a few things. first thing i am saving for is my son's graduation. He is graduating from middle school in june and i am saving for things lie senior dues, prom, and all the other things that come with it. then i am saving for my others sons books and tution for his second year of college. I am also saving for a new washing machine. I so need a bigger one. and last but not least i am saving for my house. those are the things i am currently saving for. in that order. i try and put a little bit away per paycheck for the things i want to get. i am not able to put away as much as i use too, but i am still putting money in my ING Direct, savings account

Well there are several things that I'm saving for. I'm saving for a major want of mine which is a Nintendo Wii. I actually have enough now but I'm trying to wait to let my savings account with ING collect some interest first. I'm also saving because my partner and I are really trying to work on getting an apartment so we can live there while she finishes school so I can hopefully find a job. We'll need quite a bit of money and stuff for that too so my wants and needs are confusing the heck out of me at this point.

What I am saving for and this is a really interesting question! I would say I save up for a few things right now. But the most important one would be a flat! I want to buy my own flat and I am saving up for it right now, therefore I am now living on a really frugal life trying to cut down any unnecessary expenses.

I'm saving to go see my boyfriend again. Also trying to save to start finishing my basement, and for new counter top. However to be honest seeing him tends to make the top of my list. \\After i finished the basement I'd like to get a couch and lazyboy for down there and a projector. But thats years from now i think.
