I would say it is a combination of both. I would say they have an algorithm that picks up on specific keywords that are flagged and then they would be manually read and dealt with.
But then you never know they could have a lot of staff that read everything.
I could be totally wrong but I do like to guess.

I have always wondered about that, too! I am really curious as to how they check the discussions, and also how they determine how much we each earn for our posts. It seems like there must be some people who check posts, but it also seems like it would take tons of people to be able to read through them all, so I can't imagine people go through and read every single post. I really don't know, though. I would be really interested to find out the answer!

Well, I know that there are people that are in control of a lot of the stuff that is posted here, otherwise we would not see a lot of discussions especially ones against the TOS being removed all of the time. But in other words I also think some of it is computerized as well so they know who can post certain contents or read them here as well. But I guess in reality a lot of it could be us the active members here as well.

I don't know the answer for sure, but I imagine it is a little of both. It would be easy to write a program for searching for unacceptable words and it seems obvious that they have that in place. As for content that may be unacceptable, I believe there are moderators who read and monitor discussions and replies.
