If you are a student, do you budget your money right? I am a college student and I really try my best not to spend a lot specially when it is not needed.

I think I did well in budgeting my money when I was still a student. Like many other here, I always save a portion of my allowance and deposit it in my bank account so it will gain interest as well.

It is really hard to budget your money especially if you only have a little of it to budget. And the more difficult if you are married, like myself. You have to prioritize the basic needs, like food, shelter. And if there is some extra I can buy clothes for the family or have some fun. In your case since you are a student you are dependent on your parents money I think. And it is good that you are thinking ways on how to budget your money.

When I was a student, this was what I did (and it worked... until now...). Whenever I get my allowance I saved a portion which I automatically left at home. If I got my allowance daily, I'd save a portion and swear not to touch it at all. If I couldn't leave it at home, I'd fold it up and stash them in my wallet where I'd forget about it. If I got my allowance weekly (I never asked for it monthly), I would immediately keep the half at home and just work within what I have left. It really taught me to save plus when I wanted to go out, I didn't need to ask for extra money from my parents. PLUS, I sometimes forgot about the money I stashed in my wallet and accidentally found it one time. LOL! In fact I kept about 5 big bills in different compartments!
