I wonder who invented Satan. Whoever did must have been a man of very high imagination.
But whatever, Satan is an absolute necessity for the God of organized religion to exist. If Satan is erased , then the actions of the religious God will not make sense.

Satan isn't made up. OMG! You kidding? I guesss your entitled to your opinion, but so am I. Satan is who is coming to take people who disbelieve in god to Hell.
He isnt made up and neither is god. They are very real. How do I know?, well dont ask me to prove it through science (I hate that crap) I know through my faith in god, that's how. How do you think you got here? By monkeys? haha LOL yeah right

Good and bad is another word for god and satan.I think god will not exist as satan is what we all want to avoid, not matter what your religion basically we all want to be good with a few exceptions of course. The thought of something bad happening to us is to much to bear.

As I understand it, early christianity borrowed the ideal of a negative force from many pagan religions such as Zoarastrianism of the time. These religious usually had a sort of yin yang concept of a dual god. One wasn't 'good' and one was 'evil,' they were more of a balance for each other, such as day and night.
The name "Satan" comes from the Hebrew word for adversary or resister. Personally, I think satan is not a being, but a concept of anything that resists the positive teaching of god.

Satan is the special invention of Christianity. I don't know if Islam has this Satan. Even if it has, Islam isn't as fond of Satan as Christianity is. Christians thrive on the existence of this Satan. :)
Cheers and happy Mylotting

Yes, Satan is very much there is Islam... In Islam, God created Satan from the fire and asked him to bow down before Adam. This Satan refused because of his arrogance. As such Satan was condemned to hell-fire. However, before he actually goes to hell-fire he is allowed by God to tempt and try to lead man astray. People who are tempted by Satan and do evil deeds run the risk of accompanying him to hell after they die, those who resist his temptations are promised paradise.
In this context mention should also be made that Allah (the Arabic name for God) is all-merciful and forgives most of the sins committed by mankind unless they transgress the known limits set by Allah. So Satan tempting man to sin and getting punished is not on unless man himself by his free-will succumbs to that temptation.

The Satan concept was around thousands of years prior to Christianity. I've seen a documentary (about an hour long), and I could get you the link if you desire to watch it and learn. Satan has been through many changes and alterations. He is either the "banner" to which people collect under (IE: Satanists), or some "dark lord." The first poster on here is most right as well. By the time you get the Satan of the Bible, this "evil" entity has gone through so many changes it is not even funny. Everyone who desires to see the world in black and white will see the world through religious god and Satan eyes.
To add, the actions of god make no sense most of the time anyways. I don't see why he needs Satan either, considering it is obvious he is capable of bringing destruction on his own anyways. Examining history, Satan is more of a political tool. The church used him to get A LOT of money in the past by inciting fear. Its easy to keep people in line if you incite enough fear into their hearts and insist they will be rotting in damnations fire with some unseen entity. This is eerily similar to how other groups functioned as well regarding their own "evil" spirits.

Who invented Satan. According to the bible, God invented all things for himself. He invented satan for his own time and purpose, hopefully to burn in hell someday as it reads in the book of Revelations.......... Yes ! Glory!
