Do you believe in fortune tellers?

Ok a weird thing happened to me yesterday. As I was on my way back home after working out in a gym, there was this guy literally blocking my path, and it appears we was talking to someone. When I got real close, I realized he was actually addressing me, so it was a real shock, coz this is a stranger I'm talking about. Anyway he seems harmless, so I asked him again what he was saying to me awhile back. He responded by saying "You're a very lucky man your wife loves you, and I can see you are happy, but sometimes you are stressed at work, but always finds the positives in just about everything in life, I know coz I'm a fortune teller!" It took me a few seconds before I blurted out, "thank you". I was shocked because he was spot on, and how did he know I was married, I wasn't wearing my ring as I usually take it off before I take a shower. Anyway the man went on, blah blah blah, then he asked me if he could take a look at my palm. I refused and said my goodbyes to him, which he acknowledged. I don't believe in fortune telling, as it almost always is a scam or whatever. The reason I refused to to let him read my palm was because he will say some bad things that'll happen in the future, but will ask me to buy some charms from him to prevent those events taking place in my life. Though I mentioned I don't believe in fortune telling, it just might mess me up if I ignore his warnings, so I'd rather not hear it. So do you believe in fortune telling? And has anyone ever told you of your fortune, and for it to really happen in the future?

No, no one has ever told my fortune. I do believe that there are some people who have a gift for such things. It is rare but unescapeable. I would love to have my fortune told by someone who does actually have the gift, not a sharleton. The fakes hurt us in alot of ways, not just this one. I do agree with your reasons for not letting this man look at your palm.

Yeah, I kinda liked to have Nostradamus tell my future, at least he is genuine. It practically is impossible to find the real deal nowadays, I don't know I just feel it's a scam or whatever. Thanks for responding celticeagle, cheers!

I have had my fortunes read from my palm by a professional fortune teller when I was in college - she got a lot of things right. She didn't really talk about my future, only my present, which was good because it's something that I could easily point as rubbish or good assessment :) She stated things that I have been pondering on and made some more clear to me - it's like having someone else peep into my present and tell me what she thinks - it was a good experience. But also something that I will not repeat. I did it for fun and I actually forgot what she said about my future because I didn't think it was important.
Am I scared that I might have missed a warning? Nope :P Whatever happens, something bad would eventually come my way and I wouldn't want to blame it on a fortune teller or on me not listening to a fortune teller. I'd rather blame it entirely on my previous deeds that caused such "bad luck" or "misfortune". It's the only way I'd really learn.
Thanks for the response on my discussion!

Yeah I wonder how they can really be spot on sometimes, I guess it's a hit and miss thing. Probably once they got a good reaction from you, then they proceed with "reading your so called future". Wow, I like the way think, kudos. Don't mention it, it was my pleasure, and thanks for responding as well.

Hi!
I don't believe in fortune tellers also. But they are very popular especially on the first few days of the new year. It's just nice listening to them especially if they are talking of too good things. I am interested more if there predictions will come true.
Actually years before, I tried going to a fortune teller. I was just having fun. Didn't believe everything he said and just went on with life. I can't remember if his predictions came true
have fun

Yeah it seems customary in the Philippines, and the same goes for events and even elections, where every so called "fortune tellers" will just give their prediction as to who will win. I remembered Madame Auring's boastful prediction that eventually lead to her down fall(thank goodness). It was during 1998 I think, when the Philippines hosted the Miss universe pageant(Charlene Gonzales represented the host nation), and the most popular candidate to win it all back then was miss Venezuela. So there she was madame Auring boastfully proclaiming "The winner of this year's pageant will come from a country whose name starts with a letter V". She even went on to proclaim she is 100% certain as that is what she saw in her prediction. So when the awards night came and Miss India won the beauty pageant, it marked the end of Madame Auring's fortune telling gig. Thanks for responding.

We like to believe good things and dislike bad things in our life at any time.More fortune tellers use to say more good things and give false hopes too,to earn money from us.Only if we are willing,we shall go to a fortune teller in volunteer.Unless otherwise, just pray to god,be sincere in your work and face the life as it comes.Cheers!

I believe in some form of Chinese fortune telling, that involves making predictions based on the date and time of your birth. My mum studies this kind of thing, so I usually go to ask her about things (like when is the best time to submit CVs or buy lottery tickets). Since it's my mum, I don't have to worry about being ripped off.

I only believe in a REAL fortune teller. There are a lot of scams out there.
It is really hard to find a real one and I believe some are using black magic to make money for them. I almost avoid any fortune telling from using this black magic, it is horrible if you know the truth why they know everything about me.
Good Luck.
