Students misused my website

About a year ago I started a website for civil engineering students called Civil STUDY Notes, were I uploaded all my class notes, posted references for assignments etc(These notes are FREE to download!!). The about a week ago one of my classmates came to me wanting to sell some notes to me. When I opened the document it was on from my website!!!
I stopped the website that same day.
Has something similar happend to any of you guys?

I am sorry that that happened to you but I am not surprised, you put information on the internet and then expected what? Honesty? It is the internet and we are a copy paste world (right or wrong)
Apparently you have taken some really great notes, so you should be happy about that, but you might want to sell a membership to your site.
