Hey,
Personally I haven't tried it myself, but I have heard from a countless amount of people that Microsoft Windows Vista can not compare with Windows 7. I have also talked to a person in real life and he told me that Windows 7 is basically like Windows XP, it incorporates the speed and stability of Windows XP, with the looks of Windows Vista. It is far more stable than Vista, according to people who could somehow view the coding. From my experience with Windows Vista, I have 1 GB RAM and it really struggles to even open up simple word documents combined with one Internet browser open. But if I were to have windows XP on my computer with 1GB RAM, it would easily be able to run a lot of applications at a decent speed. So to answer your question, Windows 7 is way faster than Windows Vista, it can't compare with Vista. Do NOT choose vista anymore. Hope this helps!

I tried windows 7 Beta version and the most recently released RC version of the same. RC version shows high performance when compared to vista. It takes less time to boot unlike in vista. Errors have been fixed to a large extend.
The boot logo and the fade effect while booting is really an eye candy.
It definitely gives the user a first and best impression to work with windows 7.
Download servers are still busy as thousands are downloading the RC release.
