Hi Any one out there going through the traveling sports parent stuff. Mydaughtter is on a traveling Volleyball team. The tournaments are so exciting and she really enjoys them-but the wear and tear on me to travel late Friday night to get to the tournament by 7:00 am next day. ALl day sitting around chearing -never knowing what is going on till the atheletes are told go here, break , go there etc... So it is a mixture of excitement and exhaustion. We did some fo this with our son with is football team so I guess I should have know what we were getting into. Then i have a middle child that doesn;t do any out of county travel for her interest-if they do it is local enough to be done through school bus transportation and it is a day trip. My Middle child gets rather jealous of the attention she perceives my youngest gets because we have to travel to overnight locations and sometimes entire weekend trips. Even if I offer for her to come-she declines -its boring. Well the younget teams has had 4 tournament so far 3 they have placed first place and this last weekend they placed 3rd. Either way I think they enjoy the thrill of travel and competition. New dicussion another time about the team players dynamics

wow, been there, done that. at one point my 3 daughters were in dance and doing competitions on weekends, my son was doing football and had games all over the place. it was hard to coordinate who had to be where at what time and all that. it was craziness. then one of my daughters got on a travel soccer team also. we had so much going on. then we had a baby and dragging her to all these events was more of a challenge. it is so hard to be a traveling sports parent. i look back and say what was i thinking? lol!

Thanks I needed to hear-what I already knew- but it is noce to know there are others out there that do the same crazy things for their kids. Sometimes I get feedback at work or from my mother-is it is not worth it. Just let her play for the school team and thats enough. Really she has become a much better player since joining the trave team than the local school team. Good luck to you-no babies in my future unless they are from fostercare or my grandson. (1 years old) from that football son who had us driving all over 4 years ago.
