how to install linux through network (NFS)?

i have a lab of 60 computers and i want to install linux on each of them through network.i dont want to install it on each PC separately.i think NFS(network file sharing)server will be the best option for that.i also searched a lot on internet but there is not much matter posted anywhere.so if anyone knows how to do it through NFS or has done it successfully please tell me step wise procedure. Step 1. Mount the CD Step 2. Create a boot floppy for X terminal installation Step 3. Create a root floppy for X terminal installation Step 4. Boot the X terminal with the net.i boot disk Step 5. Write down the information about your network card Step 6. Login as "root" and create Linux partitions Step 7. Launch the setup utility Step 8. Select source media Step 9. Orient the installation utility to your network configuration step 10. Confirm that the NFS partition is mounted step 11. Select disksets to install Step 12. Carry on Step 13. Testing, testing Step 14. Unmount the CD-ROM on the server

i was trying to install opensuse 10.3.i copied and created the directory in root. i also edited the /etc/exports and started the nfs server. but how to create those diskettes,cant i do it with cd's cause i dont have floppy drives there. someone also told me to go over another pc on a network and open yast.how to open yast from another computer on network.please tell me.

Hello there , Yes you can start the network installation with cd if your computer does not have an attached floppy drive. Cd1 can be used to initiate the start up over the network. i am not very good at linux but i think you will create a shared folder in the server and copy all the setup files in there. now you can access the setup file from each computer to install linux. making a folder in linux shared is not difficult, just look around the options to see the feature

Hello, if the spec of the computer is the same, it will be better if you using image. First make an image from one computer than put that image in the of the computer that accessible from network. After that just use linux installation CD or BartPE to boot only. After boot just search for the image from network and install it directly to the computer. It faster than install it one by one. Usually this is done using norton ghost or acronis true image. Hope this help...
