Why did you buy your car? Or Do you plan to buy a car?

Do you think a car is absolutely necessarily for your life? What's the reason that you buy or plan to buy a car? I ever heard a young girl said, "I want to buy a car, because......because when I go to the supermarket, I can drive it!" That's the only reason. I also ever heard two young man sain on the bus. One said, " I bought a car last week." The other asked, "But why are you on the bus now?" Then the first man said," You know, the oil is so expensive. I will only drive my car for a travel on weekend." Hehe, I think the car is indeed unnecessary for them. It's low performance but high price. Even an ordinary car, it will cost 100,000 ~ 200,000RMB (which means US$14,000~28,000). And the oil, parking fee and roading fee will cost about 500RMB (which means US$72) every month. I think it's a high cost even for a middle-income family in China. You know, the house cost, education cost for kids and medical cost are so high in China. But now more and more people own their car even they indeed don't need it. The result is that the traffic is more and more crowded, and the air is more and more worse. I hope our government can do better on the public traffic to prevent the more and more cars. We only have one earth, and the oil resource is limited too. So we should cherish it.

It's a luxury here in Singapore, and I prefer to take the public transport.
