Animals in Heaven

How many of you believe you will see your best beloved Fido in Heaven, if you make it there? How many believe there'll be animals at all Up There?
You know, the Set Gift (pastor) of my church said something about a Sunday ago. He said that animals have bodies and souls, but not spirits. That we as humans have spirits sets us apart from animals. Our spirits are the cell phones, if you will, that we use to communicate with God, and how God communicates back with us.
It has even been argued that animals are incapable of feeling guilt (well, maybe not all the time--for I had a dog that would look pretty funny after he boobooed on the carpet. (Sidebar: As a child, I had a rule: It was an automatic buttwhipping for any pet that boobooed the carpet! We had made it clear that the carpet was the place to do one's business on!).
Anyways, what do you think?

Well in my opinion, I've always visualized heaven as a place where you can eat and eat and not get fat nor get sick. But, actually I think animals will be there... They are already part of God's creation and God as a merciful and giving God... He'll take them to heaven too in the last hour or final judgment.
