I live in Canada, in Vancouver which is in the western side of Canada. Officially, English and French are the two languages spoken in Canada. There are ofcourse many many immigrants from different countries living here, and they speak their languages in their communities. Where are you , and what languages are spoken there in your country ?

The Philippines generally speak Tagalog and English but we have numerous dialects because of the different provinces within the country. Since I was born and bred in Manila, I only know how to speak Tagalog and not any other dialect. I'd like to learn though.

We mainly speak Cantonese. But English, Mandarin and some Chinese are commonly used. When company employ staff, they need you to speak at least basic English and Mandarin otherwise, you probably won't be under consideration.

Here in the US, English is the primary language. Depending on where you are however, you may hear other languages. California is very diverse and there are many Spanish-speaking people here. There's also a lot of Asians so Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Tagalog, are some of the languages that are widely spoken here. The state has recognized that there are quite a lot of people who mainly speak Spanish, so if you walk into target the signs overhead are not only in English, but in Spanish as well.

Any language that is spoken is spoken in my country. I live the the U.S. a. any people you can name not only lives here but in the major cities has their own neighborhood.I think it is great. We don't have a official language. I mean there isn't a law stating that English is our official language. English is the language that is spoken the most but that is totally different than having the government telling their citizens what language to speak.I love it.

What a coincidence, I live in Vancouver as well! So obviously English and French are the two official languages in Canada, but there's tons of immigrants, so you hear stuff like Mandarin, Korean, Punjabi, German, all sorts of things. It's really an interesting place to live, what with all the multiculturalism and stuff. I lived in Taiwan as well, and the languages there are mainly Mandarin and Taiwanese, along with each Aboriginal tribe's own unique dialect.
