Less discussions being started?

Hey, do you guys think that less discussions are being started, due to the Tasks? It seems that way to me, simply by checking the boxes at the top of the screen - When the last time someone made a discussion in them, etc. Maybe my eyes/brain is failing me, but Im pretty sure about it. What do you guys think? Any feedback appreciated :)
