Who will win the First test between India and New Zealand?

Look in Pen and paper it is easy to predict. From heart also we will say India should win. But India has to tackle the batting in that bouncy track also. Lets see what happens.

The Indian team has a good batting lineup with the likes of veteran Sachin,Dravid,Laxman and the firing batsman Sehwag and Gambhir.All are in good form nodoubt but let us not underestimate the Kiwis.If Vittori could fire why not other.It is their pitch and they have local support.Their bowlers can do harm to the batting lineup and clinch the victory.Afterall cricket is a game of uncertainties.So let us watch and wait for the result.thanx.

Without rain interrupting, I feel India would win the first match. I do not think the first match will be a draw.

It would be a close series. Don't underestimate the kiwis because they have lost the ODIs. As you said a lot depend on how our legends perform. However, all seniors have good record on foreign track. If they can handle the initial overs well then India has the chance. The one thing that goes against India is certainly its bowling. Hope Zaheer will get his form in the tests.

On current form and on paper, India are the favorites. But once the players go on the pitch the story can change dramatically. I would be interested in seeing the pitch. The pitches this time around have assisted the batsmen and that would favor India. Also small pitches means that Sehwag has a chance to blaze away in the shorter form of the game as well. I would be wary of the swing bowling of NZ, but of the current crop which bowled there was hardly any swing on display. So all pointers seem to point to India. Cheers! Ram

even though it is india who is in driving seat. things will change in test matches. yes we are very good team in paper but i think it will be tough to get over the pacy pitches and accurate bowling.
