Could you kill to protect somone you love?

I think if I were in the situation where I had to kill someone to protect one of the members of my family I could. Like in a robbery or something. I see it in movies and hear stories. If I felt my loved one is in danger like my child or husband I would do whatever I could to protect them. Could you you do it if you were faced with a situation where someone you loved were in danger?

For the sake of argument, YES!
There are a lot of reasons;
1. If my loved one cannot protect herself/himself, then someone should stand up and protect them. That leaves me. I will. My child cannot do anything against thugs or other villains!
2. if it is a matter of killing or being killed, then another YES! In life threatening instances, then I would definitely do that!
3. If that is the last resort, even if it would cost my life, then I will do it.
I know there must be a ton of reasons, but these are just a few that I can think of at the top of my head.

I ask myself this question a lot. I know it is wierd but I see it a lot in movies and TV. I am sure it happens but I hope I am never in that situation. I would do it as a lst resort.
