"On May 11 the price for a 1-ounce First-Class Mail stamp will increase from 42¢ to 44¢." Seems like we just did this. The forever stamps are for sell now for .42 and you will still be able to use them after the rate increase on May 11. I bought two books of stamps last week but I think I may go again this week and get some more. So will you buy extra stamps now, before the rate increase?

I have already bought 3 books and am planning to buy a couple of more this coming week. I just wonder how long forever is with the postal service?

Whoa! Somehow I missed this increase in price info! Thank you. I bought a bunch of forever stamps when they were on. Silly me, I thought the postage rate was going to stay at that "forever"! I know I can use those stamps still; however they will run out at some point. Decisions; decisions. I try to do most of my transmissions on line (mortgage payments, credit card payments, greeting cards, etc.), so I rarely send mail requiring stamps. I have a second cousin in her seventies and I do send here handwritten notes. She does not have a computer. I also wrote to my Gtandma for the same reason (she always referred to computer as "commuter"). Well, the USPO does do a really good job; but come on! How can they consisting need more $. I know their business is hurting because of the internet, FedX,etc.

I still have 4 books from last itme I stocked up. I will wait until I only have one book left and I will stock up again at the higher price. I know it will cost more but it is better than loosing them.

Apparently stamp prices are going up annually now. That is what a local post master told me. I myself will be stocking up on the Forever stamps because I have wedding invitations to send out in the next few weeks. I will need the stamps to "work" come May when RSVPs are sent back , so I have no choice but to get forever stamps. As far as stamps for every day use, I'm not stocking up. I just don't have the money to do so right now. Although it would be smart.

Stocking up could be hard on a budget. I bought some last week and hope to get some more at the end of the month.
I think the Forever stamp will make a nice statement for your wedding invitations. Kind of like your commitment to love each other forever.
