For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to go to Japan. I love the ancient culture aspect and the scenery and architecture...Have any of you lived or been to Japan and what do you recommend I see if I get to go there?

Awesome!..When you moved there, did you understand the language? This would be quite a barrier for me. Thanks for all the tips of what to try! I really hope I get there.

no not a bit... but im a japanese language student then.. it's an advantage for me that i stayed there while learning their language! so i get to learn faster than while staying in philippines! there are lots of bloopers .... once i went to this store and i saw a very nice coat! so i went inside and check it out. of course i cant read kanji ( chinese charcters) then.. so i said how much is this and the shop owner shake his head and say "no .. no ..." so i tried speaking in japanese and say "ikura desu ka?" (meaning how much is this?) and he speak japanese in words i never heard off!! and he show me the door! i'm so annoyed!! and then after few months i happen to pass by that street again... but now i know how to speak and read japanese... good is my face went red!! its not even a store! its a laundry shop!!! hahahahhahaha more and more of this happen to me on my first 6 months of stay there! anyway i have a nice laugh with my frends after that inccident!

I do not recommend going to Japan unless you are fluent in Japanese or have Japanese friends. If you do go, visits to Fuji-san and Kyoto should be considered. all the best urban

My little brother and I have always wanted to go to Japan. It's true that the scenery and architecture is nice but our main interest for wanting to go is to visit the Gundam musuem. We're both really big anime/game fans so we're more into that part of the culture. And, I've always wanted to shop in Akihabara. That place is like an otaku's heaven or something. They have shops selling electronics, computers, anime, manga, and other otaku related goods.

Hi Ramsey! I have always wanted to go to Japan as well, however, I have never been. I always look at pictures of Japan and pray that one day I will be able to afford to visit.

Never been there but would love to go. One of my friends went there as an exchange student for half a year and she absolutely loved it. She said it was like going to a country that is 100years ahead of the rest of the world but at the same time its a country that is so bound to its traditions.
