Twisted Logic

Someone writes, "God does not contradict his words"
Someone else responds, "Okay, first off, it is His words; capital letters when you refer to Him as He is worthy of respect, okay?
Second, the Bible states "Thou shalt not kill" and then gives several things that people should be killed for.
There's one MAJOR contradiction there."
And a third person twists the concept, if we are following your logic, then you are saying social and acceptable conduct would permit you to commit; murder, adultery with another person's significant other, or to take that which does not belong to you and you have no right to acquire, along with any other uncivilized conduct. (Paraphrased)
Due to the nature of this conversation the material used is not given credit to the authors so that we can discuss the logic of the third response which to me seems to miss the point.
When the second person responded proving the contradictions the facts provided never encouraged people to follow the inappropriate conduct suggested as commands from the word of GOD. The larger point goes to the age old admonishment that if your friends jumped off of a bridge to their death would you follow them?
I don't understand that a rational mind can't see behind the counter productive argument created by assuming that if 'B' contradicts 'B' that Chaos will result instead of fixing the problem and making 'B' not contradict 'B' either one thing is true or the other thing is true but both can't be true at the same time. One has to be changed.
If we are talking about the word of GOD then either the word is flawed or GOD is flawed.
Does that mean that people who see and understand the contradiction will choose to create a chaotic society and desire to live in a life filled with war and hunger where everyone lies to each other for personal gain?
Peace will be a Blessing found with Accountability.
Our problems are much simpler when we stop making the answers harder than they have to be.
I should not have to use double speak to get my point across but if you need me to repeat myself I'm certainly willing to try and make my point more clear.
I fully understand what double speak is, because double speak repeats like a broken record and is a waste of time. Double speak usually is necessary to prevent the real facts from being known.

I do have a habit of saying things twice, but I try to refrain unless it is a really, really important point. Time is very valuable to a lot of people, and I have to get my rest now...
Have a great day tomorrow...

I'm sort of okay... I have a lot to share and I need to be very careful of what I write.
This actually came from another discussion, I'm going to allow your detective skills the ability to figure it out, or maybe you might want to do a PM and wait for a reply from me tomorrow, I'm off to lalaalaland right now...
Have a great night and a good day tomorrow...

Actually what this is about is putting words into another person's mouth, the example I thought was pretty straight forward representing the classic attempt to twist comments into something other than what was said.
It is disingenuous and a deliberate attempt to deceive, I consider this just one form of lying of which there are many.
Since my own personal experience of being a witness to perjury I have become very adept to identify different particular forms of lying. I spotted many right there in the good book called the Bible. I have also seen people practiced at the art of deception. I don't like it and would like to see some of these forms exposed for all to see and be warned about due to the nature of harm or the harm that can be caused to our nature when a liar manages to worm their way into our lives.
My life has been made miserable because of liars, the lives of liars should be made miserable.
I don't want to be a good man made bad...
The lives of bad people will become good when they are held accountable for their actions, if you know you can not get away with the corruption you won't get away with trying to be corrupt. We can build a nice wall to block a lot of the corruption in our world.
We all have to work together.

Hello:
Thanks for getting back to me on this. I thought it may have had something to do with what you have gone through, and continue to battle.
I hope all is going better, although this discussion causes me to think is not, for which I am ever so sorry.
I do understand what you mean, as like so many others, I too am a victim of lies. I am however greatful that I was able to avoid allowing the many lies, and in turn injustices, take over my life, although I'm sure that the deceptions I have faced can't begin to compare to yours.
We have discussed this to a certain degree before, and to be honest, the only way I was able to overcome my deep and dark troubles, was through the Word of God. I understand it, I accept it, and I claim every word as mine.
That means that no one can overcome in my life because the Good Lord is in complete control, there is no greater power. I take much comfort in that knowledge, and understanding, so I smile, hold my head high and carry on in complete and total joy.
It is not my concern to worry about the lies others have told, as all lies are eventually exposed. How well you can get through all of the garbage while it is taking place will determine who comes out on top.
Jesus tells us not to worry. You accomplish nothing by it. So, understand who you are, who God is, put everything in his hands, hold your head high, claim the victory, and live it every day.
For if God is for you, who can be against you. Remember the most powerful words in the Good Book......'Revenge is mine sayest the Lord'.
If you can't take comfort in the Word of God, and live your life according to all of the promises contained in them, then the liars have truly won.
Don't give them more power than they deserve, and certainly never more power than you yourself possess in who you are through Christ.
Pray my friend, and keep praying. Tell Satan he is a liar, just like his friends who walk among you. Tell him he can not have your joy. That joy is yours, and yours alone. Take it back, put all of your problems in Gods hands and allow Him to do what only he can.....
Take care.....

Huh???
Guess I missed what started this. God is perfection, Love, and Creation. Every religious text is more than a tad off--but they are still important texts, nonetheless, less we lose the humanistic lessons and the moral and ethical implications inherent in the stories. It's hard to find the "win" in such a situation, because people tend to fight from an extremist viewpoint--either completely "their book (and source of their version of God) is infallible" or "there is no God and all religion is hogwash. Either viewpoint is destructive and inevitably results in the same thing--the destruction of true spirituality--but, alas, I suspect I'm preaching to the choir on this.
Godspeed,
DR...

There is a way to realign what is with what was, first the removal of the structure that is built upon a false foundation.
The leaders are all accountable for the destruction of all faiths!
Spirituality is that built into each individual and there we need to bring forth to make grow the flower and fruit that is the good we each possess.
So to bring together your broken thoughts, that there are two paths one extreme social group believing their book and sources are infallible proving the error in their thinking. (It is an extreme flaw) and the other side being no god... The middle road or high ground is found with a GOD single and unique, in all that is and what is as you know is huge and also in concept, love and justice, loving justice which is above all.
Now if the leaders of religion 2,000 years ago felt threatened by losing their source of wealth through sacrifices, them might want to sacrifice the one responsible through the government that had no respect for human life and on that day three were crucified, the man on the left gained eternal life while the man on the right scoffed at the whole thought or concept. Did Jesus attend any church? Do you think Jesus really wanted to be worshipped for profit?

I'm not sure what is causing your headache the source of the problem will relieve your pain if you can identify it and stay clear... It could be a thought, or a physical (biological) need or excess.
As for quitting smoking the only way to do it is cold turkey to put them down and never go back. There will be consequences the withdrawal symptoms will kick in a day or two lasting for up to two weeks and then the occasional desire to start up again will be with you triggered by a variety of stimuli the bottom line choosing to quit smoking or to refrain from using curse words is a mental issue that requires you to use your mind over the matter. I have a strong mind and do not suffer from headaches, yet my life could be described as one big headache, so maybe I don't know the best answer but I know I will stay true to what I do know. Even if I do not get the best results, I'm confident in the end I will be with GOD as GOD is with me.

God is not flawed. As DR above states, God is creation.
You know, Gary, that Christians were of different beliefs in the beginning of the 'faith revolution.' The need to solidify came about because of a fight for survival.
As I study the gnostic texts, I often wonder how the world would now be if the 'good Christians' were the rock.
Is there double-speak in the Bible? If you compare the OT to NT, yes. The new testament is all about loving and forgiving. And that comes from Spirit.

So did Jesus sacrifice his life for the whole world to be saved? The forgiveness of GOD is made available to the whole world but only few will truly accept this gift and how will you know if you are in the company of a true believer?
The spirit will show you the truth.

Very interesting that you should share this as I just had a breakfast discussion with a man that was totally biased in his belief about the Father in Religion, I'd explain more but you should know where I stand on the Patriarchal position of Organized Religion and the hypocrisy that is a contradiction in the beliefs of a great multitude.
