I don't think I'd be able to eat while looking at something gross either! I don't really get sick when I see gross things usually, but if I was eating, it probably would mess up my appetite. I think I would pretty much stop being hungry for anything at that point! It would just be too gross for me.

For the most part, things like that don't botter my stomach. I've only found two things that bother me, someone talking about cooking up some good ol cow tongue and having someone, other than my kids, vomit while I am eating. If my kids do it, it's fine, but my nephew did it one time at the dinner table and I about lost my dinner.

as a medical sutdent before, we are exposed to gross stuff like stab wounds in the ER, on going laparotomy on OR, child delivery on DR, and un healing wounds at the wards.. so we are trained to be familiar with this scenarios.. now i can eat anything even after our major operation even if our clothes smells blood or other liquids/fluids. so now watching gross film/picture/scene or any un pleasant smell doesnt disturb me from eating habit! hehehe

Ya its a cause of concern to me while I am eating.I would stop eating at the very moment if I see animal droppings but I dont mind eating staring at the blood as I have been involved in 2 accidents where I have seen blood oozing out.

I couldn't eat. I can't even eat when somebody tells a story involving gross stuff. What they receive is a frightening stare from me that would tell them to stop doing it. And you know what they always do. They would even remind themselves when they have accidentally forgotten such rule.
This behavior varies from person to person. For somebody who has this very strong stomach to go on and eat while looking or hearing stuff such as, I envy them.
I also think that you can get used to that especially with the help of the nature of daily routine you have. I can expect somebody who works as a butcher or a nurse maybe to treat such situations as normal. They have to.
I hope this helps. Thanks.
